Do you realize that every news source you use to back you baked in beliefs come with a tremendous liberal bias.... you're as bad as the right wingers who cling to fox news as the only credible source of information.... I'm sure you know that Alternet is a Liberal news machine created for the purpose of perpetuating the division in this country.

If you want people to take you seriously, try and find un-biased news sources to back your claims. Although they are extremely rare.... In a country of donkeys and elephants, it would seem all other animals are doomed for extinction.

Elephant blames donkey
Donkey blames elephant
??????? who's really culpable

First of all I doubt very much that anyone in Europe really knows Romney......heck, people in this country don't know him. They know what MSNBC and CNN and Huffington Post say about him......but they don't really know him.

And why do I (or you) even care about What Europe thinks? I am more concerned about our credit rating (which just got lowered again but the news media ignores it so Obama won't look bad) and drilling for oil and jobs and whether we will be in another depression if Obama wins. That is what I am concerned about......not the Europeans.

The problem in 2008 was McCain picked Palin for V.P. and drove his campaign into the ditch.

The problem in 2012 is Romney has also pandered to the right wing.

Both candidates might have had a chance if they stayed true to their moderate positions. The majority of the country is against right wing policy just slightly less than they are against left wing policy, which is why we don't even have a candidate from the left wing (take Pelosi, for example....she wouldn't stand a chance).

Mitt may have done it by staying a moderate Republican. He isn't way out ahead now because he is playing to the wrong crowd. It certainly isn't over but he hasn't been all that great. Even if for some reason he does win, like the Republicans blocked enough people from voting or what-not, it won't be by very much. A moderate Republican campaign would have won big this year.

By putting up roadblocks that make proving you're an American difficult if you're a healthy, working adult, who has disposable income.........even moreso if you're disabled, aged, poor, ect. If not that, just throw them off the roles and make them prove they're American in an inordinately short time, even if they fought for their country................

Debunking Misinformation on Photo ID | Brennan Center for Justice

vs

Election Day impersonation, an impetus for voter ID laws, a rarity, data show - The Washington Post

So by requiring ID, we are eliminating over 10% of the registered voting population to protect against the possibility of voter impersonation, despite only 10 cases being substantiated since 2000. Hmmm.......

Thank you!

It's absurd to create laws to prevent a problem that doesn't exist. The intention certainly is to win elections by preventing citizens from voting.

why should they prove anything? for 200+ years our voting system has operated just fine, with little to NO voter fraud.

:tongue1:

keep telling yourself that. I have ZERO problem with needing ID, with your photo in it.... How else can we be sure that only those with the RIGHT to vote are casting a ballot.

I am sure it will create hardships for some folks who do not yet have such form of identification, but it can help eliminate voter fraud completely. Don't trick yourself into thinking that voter fraud isn't a problem. The POLITICO published an article with research revealing that 1 in 8 voter registrations is inacurate or fraudulent. Furthermore, 1.8 million DEAD people were registered to vote at the time of the article. Now, without photo I.D anyone can take advantage of the system ad fraudulently cast ballots for those dead folk... Now, if you are required to prove your identity to cast a ballot, it can greatly decrease the numbers of fraudulent ballots cast.

what voter fraud? the only voter fraud comes from mail in votes, and ids wont stop that.
the whole notion of voter fraud, is itself a fraud perpetuated by those that want to keep legal voters from voting....democratic.

No, Democrats lose the right to vote with these new laws that seem to be such a priority right before a close election to unseat the current President.

boy that koolaid must taste pretty good.

little if any of what you've posted is true or accurate and even if it were what does it have to do with the actual casting of a ballot?
a dead person cannot walk into a polling place
and if I'm someone intent on committing a fraud how would I possibly know what name to use upon entering the polling place?

for you to dispense this dribble suggests you've never actually cast a ballot.

please explain to all of us how you would successfully pull off a fraudulent vote if you were so inclined.

I found that article you referenced.

Report: 1.8M dead registered to vote - Mackenzie Weinger - POLITICO.com

Note the following statement contained within it:

"Still, David Becker, director of Pew’s Election Initiatives, said that the center’s findings did not suggest any kind of voter fraud or voter suppression from these problems, but noted they do 'underscore the need for an improved system.'"

The article was about updating the registration system from a paper-based one to an online one. Dead people "registered to vote" does not equal dead people voting -- it just means they haven't been deleted from the registration lists.
