Anyone workout early in the morning(at the gym by 6am the latest)? What do you like about it and is it hard to fit into your daily schedule? Also what time do you go to bed for proper recovery? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the reply. What time do you go to bed usually if you have to get up that early?I'm up at 5, out the door by 5:30 and at the gym by 6:00, five days a week.
I prefer it because it is less crowded than at other times if the day. It doesn't hurt that I'm a morning person.

Thanks for your insight and sounds like you were able to stick with the schedule for the long run. That's very impressive doing it for 15 years! I too wanted to start my gym early due to work so the only way to do it without compromising is early morning and going after work is not feasible due to the crowd and the time I get off work. So I'm just seeing how people are doing this thanks. When I was still working, I got up every day of the work week at 4:30 am. In the gym by 5:45 am; 10 minute warm-up on bike and then boom, on the floor with my trainer at 6:00 am. Hit the shower at 7:00 am, out the gym on my way to work by 7:20am. At my desk at 7:45 am.
I usually could/did not leave work each day before 7:00 pm. Then it was home, where hubby usually had dinner waiting. Ate, took a tub bath, and usually in the bed by 9:30 pm.
It was tough the first few weeks I started this schedule, but it was the only way I could get in my workouts without compromising my work performance/requirement to always be available to the Political appointees I worked for. Oh, I always turned off my work phone at 9:00 pm. Always. Otherwise I'd never decompress enough to get the necessary sleep.
I did this for 15 years. Can't say I miss it, lol! But, even retired, I still keep a similar gym schedule with my trainer. Just don't have to get up so early now cuz I was able to move my gym times to 8 or 9 am. Whew!

So you go to gym twice a day? Do you get burnout or it works for you?I wake up around 4:30. Will hit the treadmill, do planks, crunches, and flutter kicks. Than it coffee time and off to work. Hit the gym around 4 to 5 pm for weights and sauna. Go to bed around 9:00, but takes an hour or so to cut brain off and fall asleep.
I'm glad you can stick with the schedule and good to know that it worked well for you. Hope you can get back to where you were pre injury.I wake up at 3 am, have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. In the gym by 3:45 - 4 am. I do a full body workout at least 5 days a week.
It gives me a lot more energy throughout the day. Plus I feel a lot better and definitely can tell my body looks better too. Been doing it for two years come Feb.
I usually will come home after work cook my dinner and in the bed between 6:30 or 7 o'clock. May not actually go to sleep that early but I'm giving my body the rest it needs to recover.
I also have a protein shake after my workout before I take a shower and head to work. Also try to eat a healthy dinner most evenings.
If I don't go to the gym before work I might not make it after work from being too tired. It's become a way of life. I miss it when I don't get to go. Like the three wks I had to stay out because I had surgery on my wrist. Just started back lifting weights this past Thursday. I can really tell three wks made a huge difference.

I do this for a few years now. Wake up at 5:50, brush teeth and drink a coffee. At the gym around 6:10 for full-body workout. 7:30 shower at gym and left to work.
