Morning Wood?

I turned 32 this year. My older brother and I were reminiscing about being teenagers and he asked me about the last time I woke up with morning wood. It got me thinking and over the last week or so, I've only woken up with one three times. It used to be every day.

Reading and Google research made me worried. I don't suffer from erectile dysfunction and neither does my brother. So just curious, is this something that starts to go away as we all get older?

Nearly 40 here and over the last 10 years morning wood had pretty much stopped. I never had it much before that anyway. I don’t have any health issues or erectile problems. I assume some men get it more than others.
If I’m honest I thought it was something you grew out of as you got older, as I rarely got it. Turns out most men boast about having it every morning on here

Drink lots of water, exercise to keep the blood flowing, It is masturbation month so make sure you give yourself a good work out - that helps keep the blood flowing into "that " muscle. Muscles need to exercise ;-). I am over 50 and have one just about every day.

I turned 50 a few months ago, but I still feel like I'm in my late 20s or early 30s. My health is generally good and up until the COVID-19 mess, I used to wake up with morning wood most days. The stress of everything right now has taken it's toll on my boner and my blood pressure, as I have morning wood maybe just a couple of days a week and my blood pressure has increased tremendously. I'm currently taking Lexapro just because of life in general right now, and that has an effect on the morning wood. So I think in my case, it's temporary and will hopefully return to normal in a short period of time.
i also notice that the quality of my erection is lower, it takes me longer to get hard and doesn't always seem as rigid as it did a few months ago. I think everyone is under tremendous stress right now, anxious about their job, worried about their health, stressed over the state of everything and it affects our dicks.

I used to have morning wood all the time, even in the middle of the afternoon. Just about every day through my 20's.

Less frequently in my early thirties. Now in 40's, it's mostly when I'm asleep - wakes me up in the middle of the night, zero dark thirty wood, and occasionally for morning urination after I wake up for the day. That's my sleep alone routine. If lady sleeping next to me, there's usually morning wood.

It took me 8 months to get my sex drive back while on lexapro.

It took me 8 months to get my sex drive back while on lexapro.

My mother (a nurse) asked me if I was having any problems since taking it. I asked her what she meant and her reply was it affects libido and erections. Luckily, I was on the phone with her, because I was so embarrassed. HAha

I'm in my late 60's and have morning wood more now than 10 years ago. it doesn't happen often but it does happen. I found that years ago, the more active my sex life, the number of morning wood lessened. my wife and I had sex several times a day for years, and early morning sex was very common. now we don't have sex like that due to age and her medical condition.

I don't think I'd be overly worried about not having morning wood.
With everything that is going on right now, everyone's stress level is elevated.

Stress whether you're conscious of it or not is a hard dick killer. It zaps your libido. I wake up most mornings with morning wood. I've definitely noticed a difference since this covid 19 crap and not being able to go to the gym on a daily basis.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Over the last two weeks or so, I find that 4 or 5 times out of 7, I still wake up with morning wood. I'm jerking off a few times a day too since quarantine (what else am I going to do?) and usually before I go to sleep, so that could be part of the reason too.

It’s the opposite for me. Most mornings I wake up with wood. It wasn’t like that in my younger years.

Not being able to lift has messed me up so bad.

Like a lot of you, generalized stress and work stress are taking a toll on my body. I don't wake up with morning wood as often. On the other hand, I've had a few days here and there where I had just a lot of pent-up stress and have stress wanked on more than one occasion. I also know I haven't been good about getting physical exercise and eating well. So, I think all of these issues are interconnected in some sort of way.

62. I may not have morning wood, but I usually have at least one or two unprovoked erections every day. Working from home has saved me quite some embarrassment in this regard.

Bonus morning wood joke from Andrew Dice Clay. "Why do I call it my cock? Because it gets up half an hour before I do."
