Not to say that Blackwater Swamp mosquitos are big or anything but after I turned out the bedroom light last night I overheard one of them on the other side of the room say, "Should we eat him here or take him down to the swamp?"

 I thought the same thing!

yup ... me too :biggrin1:

you might want to try taking a vitamin b complex (supposedly when you take it your sweat turns off the mosquitos) ... some people swear by that although, most studies have not been able to prove the connection but, it's always good to get your daily dose of vitamins :biggrin1:

..we only lived in Tenerife since the end of last year and as such we are still not fully acclimatised nor do we have much resistance to mosquito bites...
Mosquitoes are attracted to hot bodies, dark clothing and sweet sugary things. As I am naturally sweet and hot  I expect them to attack me.
Eating a banana:banana: will also cause them to be drawn to you.

The little buggers are more numerous during N.P.'s rainy season. I use Avon's Skin- So-Soft Bug guard insect repellent as needed. A dish of Apple Cider Vinegar also can be used to repel these insects and you can apply A.C.Vinegar directly to your mosquito bites to help them heal (but not on the penis). Be careful with the aloe vera plant as it can stain your clothing Dave.

After 16 years of living in N.P. I am more resistant to them. But it is wise to wear shorts to prevent the bugs biting what lies beneath said garment.

I heard the same two mosquitos talking when I lived in South Carolina---I remember the reply of the second one as "Let's eat him here--if we take him back to the swamp the BIG guys will get him!" :biggrin1:

It's happened to me several times.

Here is an amazing cure I discovered by chancefor mosquito bites on any part of the body although I've never seen it recomended anywhere. Oregano Oil. It is oregano extract in olive oil. You can buy Oreganol brand in Pharmacies in the US and Canada -
North American Herb & Spice - The Original Wild Oregano Company
Oregano has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, and analgesic properties.
Just rub a little into the bite -and within minutes it is gone. It is remarkable. It kills the infection, and stops the itch. I'm sure you can get stuff like this over there, but probably even a little fresh wild oregano rubbed into the bites would help.
Have fun.
