By the way, the rich are already paying MUCH MORE than their fair share.

Not really- the percentage of the total income tax paid is roughly proportionate to their share of the national GDP. Besides- almost all of the income growth this country has seen in the last 10 years has gone to those on the very top of the income scale.

Based on your avatar...you are not the solution....just part of the problem.

The current administration is infected with a disease that makes them spend FAR more money than they have. The fact that taxes are too low is not the problem...it's the spending.

All of these handouts have got to stop. It's an unsustainable path.

Of course, on the campagin trail P-BO said that he wouldn't have pork barrel spending, blah, blah, blah.

Funny how the over spending of the previous administration is all but ignored.

Anyone who makes accusing, insulting remarks using the second person pronoun goes right to my ignore list. If someone wants to be part of a community here, they can address the issues without recourse to personal attacks. If they are trying to harm our community, they will use insulting, accusing second person remarks.

Stick to World of Warcraft, your juvenile opinions aren't adding any value here.

Nuh uh, you are an ugly butt-face.

P.S. Nice avatar fool. I like how you actually brag you did it first, before VB. I also like how you are in Britain, but hate an American president that much. Don't you have your own problems in your own little country to worry about?

P.P.S. I don't play, nor have I ever played WoW. But keep making retarded assumptions like the retard you are.

P.P.P.S. Happy MLK Jr. day punk, I know how much you hate black folks and socialists. Mwahahahaha!

You clearly don't have the first clue why I have the avatar I have at the moment, but thanks for letting the forum know that you're the sort of shallow-minded person who will judge a complete stranger based on your own your imagined conclusions, instead of judging a person based on who they actually are.

In other news... step your game up, before you get run.

It's easy to control the message when you control the messenger.

My favorite was how in about 5 days we went from "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" to "we're so fucked that we need to bill your children for a couple trillion in bailout money for our Wall St pals, otherwise the world will end". They knew to dump it on us fast, hard and out of nowhere, and to also make the alternative to the bailout sound like a fate worse than death. The banksters knew they had to lie their asses off, else we would have rioted on the spot and burned them all down back then.

My position remains unchanged... Not only is raising taxes on (just) the rich the fairest thing to do all things considered, but I also firmly believe that it is the one thing we can do that will trigger meaningful growth of the economy.

These the "rich are getting richer, and poor getting poorer" rhetoric is mostly due to pick and choosing the numbers. It's easy to yank that out, pending what distribution model you chose... in other words, pick the angle and data to tug at the heartstrings, vs something more honest. For example, the top .001% has gone up roughly 5 fold in the last 20 years or so. Um, yeah... who cares, but many use shit like that to tell an undisclosed-yet-skewed story. Shame on Apple, Google, Genentech, Exxon.... evil evil... you should boycott their products. We should put Steve Jobs in the crosshairs, course, looks like he'll be dead w/in a year anyways. Course, most Apple users are liberals so it'll be interesting to see them cry for a multi-billionaire egomaniac, like when Jerry died. Peace out.

Everybody always mentions the tech leaders, as if they alone are the only ones getting rich. The engineers and tech companies are a small percentage. And let's also be clear, tech companies made a lot of their money off of low paid wage earners, the idea that everyone that works at Amazon or Google is wealthy and well off is a total illusion.

It is the investors that are getting exponentially richer, and they don't do anything. America has changed dramatically starting int he 1980's, when CEO's started thinking that they could let all the other companies pay high wages so workers could afford their products. Then it was a race to the bottom. Hours worked are up, productivity is up, CEO pay is up astronomically, but worker pay has been stagnant.
