Believe it or not, Bridge to Terabithia made me tear-up. No, I'm not lying.

Then, of course:
Brokeback M.
Field of Dreams
The Passion
Terms of Endearment
[Some parts of] World Trade Center

The scenes in Brokeback Mountain and Gattaca that have already been mentioned really get me in the cut, but don't go so far as to make me cry.

The scene that does is the ending scene of Hair, when Berger is taking Claude's place aboard the plane to Vietnam.

I've mentioned them at least three times before, but The Color Purple and Driving Miss Daisy never fail to make me cry.

The Color Purple because that last scene where Celie and her sister play patty cake makes me think of the close relationship I have with my siblings and how horrible it would've been to have them taken away from me for so long. Another scene is when Celie throws chocolates to the little girl from the train. It reminds me of when I was little and dreamed of being rich enough to take care of my whole family when I grew up. The way she imagines it being her sister is why I think of it in that way.

The scene that I usually start crying in Driving Miss Daisy is when Miss Daisy tells Hoke that he's her best friend, and especially when it starts showing scenes of all her old momentos, pictures, and things. That montage of scenes of her house really gets me, as I realize how awful it is when people die in their old age and leave behind all their stuff and the life they led. I remember seeing it not long after my grampa died and just letting loose with my tears. When my grampa died, one of my mom's cousins mentioned how we were losing members of his generation so quickly. It made me think of Driving Miss Daisy when she said that. It's hard to put into words, but I guess it just the dying-off of older generations, and their ways, which I find highly sentimental.

Just writing this, and thinking of these movies, has made my eyes well-up with tears, so I'll stop there!

crap. sometimes I really hate the little "back" button on the side of my mouse when I hit it unintentionally. I had typed up a long list of a bunch of different movies that I have cried in before. I don't feel like retyping it though. Or at least not the detailed explanations. Here's an abridged list- Transformers: the Movie (and I'll probably cry in the Michael Bay one too, out of remorse for my raped and sullied childhood), Titanic, Braveheart, The Rules of Attraction, The Abyss, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty & the Beast, Young Guns II, Schindler's List, Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Passion of the Christ, The Truman Show, The Lion King, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Terminator 2..... etc. yeah, it really doesn't take much. Sucker for melodrama.

I know that the end of Gladiator and when they killed Wm. Wallace in Braveheart made hubby a little teary eyed....but if I hadn't looked at him, I wouldn't have known.

I could never look directly at Maximus' face in the end scene when he's on the ground, dying....I knew I'd lose it.
I saw it 12 times in the theator and countless times after that on cable and dvd.

Such a sacriledge (sp?) to kill off Maximus.....
(but then I'm a big Russell Crowe fan, too)

For anyone moved by scenes of patriotism or brotherhood "Glory" will leave you blubbering. It gets me every time. The way they hold themselves to a standard no one else expects of them. The pride and the courage humbles me.

YEs! I love that movie! The part where I cry is near the end .THe night before they go to Fort Sumpter and are singing. I have friends who reinact the Massachussets 54th and they were in the film and served as consultants. Yes, I loved watching Denzel take his whipping with one arm Now that was fabulous. I guess others thought so too. He got an Oscar for it.

I remember the first movie that really got me, and made me really break down was 'Frances' with Jessica Lange, about the great silent screen star Frances Farmer....an early example of the destructive manipulation that the big hollywood studios held over their screen stars, a truly tragic and horribly unjust story.

There are the obvious ones, 'Brokeback' made me cry the second time I saw it, and I am embarrassed to admit that when I saw 'Titanic' in the cinema I cried when 'Jack' sinks beneath the waves.....how sad is that!

La Vita è Bella

This has to be the most heart-rending film I've ever seen...the part that truly sends me over is when Guido is being taken away to his murder by Nazi stormtroopers but makes a showy game of it all for his son who is watching from a hiding place.
