Which films (all the way to whatever movies you could think of) have you always enjoyed a lot, but friends or relatives never did at all? Name your favorites and list the ones the ones you enjoy the most, but friends or families never did?

Not only friends and family but nearly everyone else I meet can't get into one of my favourite films of the last few years, "Mongol" directed by Sergei Bodrov, the first in a trilogy about the life of Genghis Khan, filmed in Mongolia and Kazakhstan and all in Mongolian with subtitles.

Mongol (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's absolutely breathtaking and one of the most beautifully filmed movies I've seen in years, the cast are amazing, and the scenery is beyond spectacular.

I have a huge passion for history, especially pre-modern history. Central Asian history is a particular fascination and one can't not be fascinated by Genghis Khan if one's interested in Central Asia. But that's a big if.

The 80's Batman movies, everyone seems to prefer the new ones apart from me.

I thought it was pretty good, as you described it. I think many people can't get into subtitles...too much going on onscreen and then they have to read at the same time. Americans in particular, I think, just want easy entertainment where they can relax, and not have to concentrate too much.

I'm very fond of Fellini's version of Satryicon. Everyone I know doesn't understand it or have the slightest idea what it is about, it's history or who the author, Petronius Arbiter, was. Nor does anyone seem to have an interest in finding out.

I'm also fond of a film known in English as The Tree of the Wooden Clogs. It's about 4+ hours long. The original was six hours long. I don't know anyone except myself who has seen all six hours. Again, it's Italian, but beautifully filmed and directed.

I share so many of those with you!! But luckily, my family like most of them too.

The first one that comes to mind for me is American Pie. I've always loved it, but my family don't enjoy it at all.
