One that I could think of at the present moment is Joaquin Phoenix's I'm Still Here...not interested and really don't care. I am not watching a pseudo-documentary that feeds an actor's ego. I rather see a movie than an Andy Kaufman/Borat style documentary about his lifestyle. No way.

SALT. Sorry, Angelina Jolie is definitely wearing off as a good actress for me. Nanny McPhee Returns too. Sorry, nothing interesting about a snaggletoothed, big ass face wart Mary Poppins ripoff.
And last, Yogi Bear movie. I think someone here said it all with their promos, IE, good things come in bears? That, and watching another CGI version of a classic cartoon makes me run for the pepto.

Anything animated (like Shrek) is off my list. Aside from that, Chuck's right, SALT was shitty (got roped into seeing it against my will).

As a general rule though, I hate anything with Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Sly Stallone or Samuel L. Jackson in it.

I feel I should note that I don't plan on seeing it on DVD if I can help it too.

Also I wish I could put Avatar on this list, I want my $14 back James Cameron.

I'll compromise a little if it is showing at the $2 theatre, like "Letters to Juliet":

Letters to Juliet (2010) - Movie Info - Yahoo! Movies

It actually turned out pretty good, but right at the emotional climax, the worn film played like a scratched record, with the music wobbling in pitch every ten seconds or so. After a while it created a comical effect, leaving the audience in stitches.

I Netflix'd Avatar recently, and I am so glad I didn't pay to see it in theatres. I thought it was a terrible, unimaginative movie.

Granted, Avatar wasn't anywhere near being as great as all the hype made it out to be, but it was undeniably visually stunning. The whole thing was an eyegasm, and only worth seeing in a theatre. It'd just be a boring as fuck film on any other medium. But regardless, a work of art (and quite the innovative one at that) in its own right.
    Especially if you're stoned.

Gonna have to agree with the OP about I'm Still Here. Fuck that film and fuck Joaquin Phoenix. What a cry for attention.

Disco, I agree, it was very pretty to look at. But so is Raven Riley finger banging herself. I shouldn't have to elaborate which one I'd rather see (especially in 3d, shit would be the tits).

    Therefore, Avatar < Smut.

I'm sure there is someone you'd watch playing with their frank and beans over Avatar. In 3D!

I always have a guideline that I follow. Do I really want to see this on a big screen? If yes I go to the theatre. After that I say to myself, will this be on an airplane? If it might be OK to rent or do On Demand I'm willing to wait. Sometimes in weak moments I'll go to a matinee alone to see something obscure. But one thing I can guarantee... I'll wait for Eat Pray Love for a long flight from EWR to HNL.
