I'm really sorry that happened to you. Same happened to me once. Subsequently I have signed all my credit cards *Ask for photo ID* and I get a mobile phone call for all purchases to confirm it's me.

I want to know more about receiving a mobile phone call please.

Oh I think PayPal is bad news. I had an account once for something I bought on ebay once and I got a notice that someone in Belgrade was trying to access my account. I have never trusted the security at PayPal since.

I don't like PayPal either. They won't set up an account for me because they say the personal info I give them doesn't match the info on my credit card or bank account. I've only lived in 2 places the past 12+ years. Not sure what credit broker jokers they're using but if they can't even get my basic info right, I don't trust that any issues would be handled appropriately if they came up.

Also, I had my bank account tapped into twice before by the Nigerians. The transactions were traced to companies in Nigeria. Both times a small anout of $2 or $4 was taken out but it could have easily been $2000 or $4000. Had to close my account and reopen a new one. Luckily the bank did it for me no problem and pursued whatever legal actions they could. Doubt they ever recovered anything.

Mem, Bank of America helped me open a checking account specifically for online purchases. I can use it anywhere that accepts e-checks. I have no paper checks for this account. My overdraft protection doesn't protect this account. When I need to make a purchase or add money to PayPal, I transfer money in from any other Bank of America account I have and go on from there. This has helped me.

My dude's card was copied recently, we think. We think it was a waitress, but have no real evidence of this. The bank reimbursed him fully.

ParetoLogic, the developers of RegCure, would like to take this opportunity to warn our customers about the current threat of the ZBOT Trojan variants. ZBOT Trojans can steal banking and credit card information, passwords, and other confidential data.
Please be aware that these trojans are commonly infecting users through emails and messages that pose as trusted sources, such as banks financial institutions, as well as Facebook and other social websites. Anti-Virus PLUS can detect and remove ZBOT Trojan variants.
Threat Name - ZBOT
Threat Type - This application is a Trojan, a program with hidden functionality that may include viruses, adware, spyware, malware, hacks and data mining.
To ensure you are not infected with ZBOT, ParetoLogic suggests running a full security scan of your computer with anti-virus software. We highly recommend Anti-Virus PLUS, one of the fastest and most effective virus solutions available.

I want to know more about receiving a mobile phone call please.

Check with your bank to see if the service is available. It's an automated telephone call when you use your credit card. It prompts you to confirm the amount and the location of the purchase and then it authorizes it. It slows you down a few seconds but I had a nightmare with identity theft a few years ago

You should run any free service you can. I stopped using Macafee yrs ago as it misses alot of stuff.

I never had luck with the free ones. They run a scan and then tell you you have problems and want you to upgrade and pay to get rid of it.

KeyScrambler encrypts your keystrokes in the kernel, giving keyloggers only "scrambled," meaningless keys to record.

Cool, do you know if a similar programs will work with Google Chrome. This one only seems to work with Firefox or IE. I am using Firefox now, but I also use Chrome at the same time.

Okay thanks I will use Firefox now for all my online transactions. It's very cool I can see it working in a green bar on top of the screen

Yo, Mem: That's bad news. I've had similar experiences and when I was shown by a guy who works for an Apple Super Store how anyone could use one of several illegal applications to follow my online sessions when in a WiFi area, I really became paranoid.

I now have one VISA card that has a $500 maximum purchase capacity (no automatic credit increases and they assure me they will call when purchases look suspicious -- and they do) for any online purchase.

I have other cards and use my debit card regularly at ATMs all over the world and never have (yet) had a problem. But the $10 a month insurance that I purchase to protect my credit cards and credit profile I hope will be well worth it.

My connection is via Cable Modem and not wireless. I think it is a good idea to get a card for only online purchases. The thing is that I always like to use my Platinum Visa or M/C so that it doubles the warranty. I have a few credit cards that I don't use and I might contact them to see what they can do to make it a secure online card.

MEM - Get AVAST Antivirus. It's more powerful than many of the bloatware antiviruses out there, and it is FREE.

I'd bet you have either a Keylogger or a Trojan in your PC logging every password you have.

Download and Install Avast Antivirus - Do a Boot Time Scan. Delete everything it finds.
Download Spybot Search and Destroy and Install.

Download GlarySoft Utilities and shut off unused programs from your startup.

Download Zone Alarm Firewall - you can cut off any unauthorized connections - ESPECIALLY on Comcast/Charter Networks - they are the WORST!!!

All of the above are FREE proven tools. Let me know if you need me to send them to you.

If you have a bug that you cannot remove - the next easiest thing is to pull the hard drive and scan it externally by another PC.

Sorry that you are having these problems.
Let me know if I can help.
