As a Doctor, i have probably given over 20,000 physicals in my career. I do physicals at 5 local high schools for sports, and do a lot of job and college admission physicals as well. Ive obviously seen a vast array of penises. Couple of points I thought you all might find interesting... about 2% have erections during their physicals. 99% of these are mortified by the event, despite any reassurances from me that it happens all the time. The largest penis I ever saw was about 8" flaccid. Ive seen a number that were less than 1/2 inch. About 85% are circumcised. I see little correlation between ethnicity and penis length or girth. If forced to pick which ethnic group is largest, I would say my experience says that those of Mediterrean descent, (Spanish Italian Greek) are slightly larger than those of Northern European descent. However, the largest i ever saw was on a boy of Irish background. There is absolutely no correlation between penis size and testicle size, or between penis size and height, weight, shoe or hand size or body hair. Be happy to answer any other questions about my experiences.

In fact, since most people to get exams are older males.. and there was a surge of circumsisions from 1940-recently... chances are there will be another 20+ years before he sees more uncuts in America/.:biggrin1:

Yes, Im in the metro NYC area. The % of uncircumcised is definitely increasing as the years go by. When i began, greater than 95% were circumcised, today it is closer to 80%. A welcome change in my opinion.
The current statistics in the US show a healthy decline in circumcision. Currently, nationally I believe the number is in the 65% range. Interestingly, it is the lowest on the West Coast were circumcised boys are the minority (about 40%)

The next student was a small skinny freshman who couldnt have been more than 125 lbs and 5'6", (why he was trying out for football was a mystery)but his penis was not only inordinately large, but extremely thick, along with 2 massive testicles. I remember he also had inordinately large nipples, not unlike a woman. The difference between these two students muscularly, and endowment wise was unbelievable.

While Ive seen, and handled thousands and thousands of penises, the number that were actually erect were relatively small, maybe in the range of 200-300. Except for phimosis cases (thats where the foreskin is too tight during erection, causing pain) all the rest were "unplanned erections". all that said, I would guesstimate (most patients would probably have a problem if I brought out a tape measure) that the largest erect one Ive seen is in the 9 inch range. It was a 15 year old boy I gave a physical to work at the town pool last year. He surprised me because one second he was flaccid, and as soon as I started a testicular exam, he became erect in a matter of seconds. He was extremely apologetic, and embarassed. I told him not to worry, that it happens all the time (which it doesnt), but to warn me next time, as he almost caught me flush in the face. He laughed at that.
By the way, the smallest erection I ever saw was .75 inches. That one I measured, as he was a patient specifically because of that problem. I referred him to a plastic surgeon

I'm surprised to hear the low percentage or erections during exams. I'm 19, and have been getting erections during exams for as long as I can remember. I figure the reason is get them consistantly is either because I have a semi- good looking woman handling my junk, or (whether this is appropriate or not) seems to comment on the "progress" my body has been making as she comments on my size from time to time, which really turns me on
I suppose it would not be unusual for a teenage heterosexual to have an erection with an attractive female doctor "handling his junk". I doubt you would have that reaction with a male Doctor like myself. After looking at your photos, i would agree with her that you have a very "well developed" body, but Im not so sure its the epitome of professionalism for a Doctor, female or male, to make that comment to you as you stand naked in front of them with a large erection.
On the issue of erections during a medical exam, I think the issue arise (no pun intended) for a variety of reasons. Many men and boys find being nude in itself to be arousing. Particularly if they are nude around clothed people. Secondly, there are people, particularly boys and young men, that take very little stimulation to achieve an erection. I had one boy get an erection when I put the stethoscope on his nipple, and prostate exams often result in erections becuase of the stimulation the prostate receives. I also think some erections are caused simply because the patient is so concerned they may get an erection. The preoccupation of thinking about it, actually causes it. Finally, I think that some are aroused by fantasies, stories, and porno where Doctor's exams result in steamy sex.

Very interesting and informative, thanks Doctor. Based on your vast experience and the sizes claimed by many of the participants on this board, I am surprised that you haven't encountered one of the 10+" trouser snakes that allegedly frequent these parts.
Speaking of prostate exams, back in the early 80's I went to my HMO for a physical. The Nurse Practitioner was a very (I mean VERY) attractive woman. I was on my side when she greased me up, slid her gloved finger up my chute, and *YOW* I spontaneously ejaculated, not just ejaculated but shot my load a couple of feet so it seemed. I was mortified, and I was stunned and wiped out by the experience.
As she was leaving, she handed me paper towels to clean up and gave me the nastiest smile, sort of like "Got you, didn't I?". It took me about ten minutes to get up, clean up, and get dressed. I never saw her again.
Physicals since then just haven't been the same, alas!
