Aw, that's tremedous. I knew you were Dean's List material!

Understanding basic music theory has added to my appreciation of music in general for many years. Believe me, you won't regret it. Now enjoy a well deserved break and have some mad fun!

having mad fun would involve me getting several days of work and a cash stash to run to ohio ;)

Congrats!

How'd ya do on your basic Core classes, such as

Trig, Calculus, Finite Math, Chemistry, Physics..etc?

All the core stuff needed for a degree.

C

Ahh I don't have to take most of that... the ones that I do have to take and have taken were all A's and B's too .. but that was a very long time ago and I never had to use any of it. No shock there.
hehe

That's awesome. I took a music theory class as a freshman in college and let me tell you, that class started with 60 people and we must have had 15 by the end of the semester: one of the hardest classes I've ever taken... period. Anyone who can get a B in that has some mental skilz. :)

I still remember my ear training and I can usually listen to an interval and say "ok... perfect 5th..... sounds like the first two notes of Star Wars..." or some such. My friends think I'm a total nut.

Good job, Ashlar!

You have a lot to be proud of.

(My best music grade ever was a C. Actually, that was my only Music grade ever. Actually, it was my only C ever.)

HAHA! That's how she taught us a lot of intervals as well. By Having us associate them with popular melodies that we knew.

thank you spl :) I do well with music in general, but I've been singing and playing instruments for as long as I can remember. My first one was flute when I was forth grade.

LOL! Well put!

Congrats, Ashlar! One of my worst regrets is not taking advantage of the opportunity to go seriously into a musical career. (Well, OK, lack of talent might have had something to do with it, too.) You do indeed have much to be proud of!

<pout> I'm just brokenhearted you didn't take me up on the offer for a little "extra instruction."

By the way, my first degree was in Music Performance and Education. My major was Horn, my minor was piano. I now mostly play flute or bassoon. Wanna hear my Paganini Caprices (transcribed for flute)? It's just as scary as the original for violin.

Oooer ... lovely. I just ordered the Caprices for violin recently. Wont be able to play them for awhile from the looks of it, but I could probably do it on flute. Would be interesting indeed to hear. :)

Maybe I'll write something just for you... how 'bout "G-string fun in 7 Positions"???
