Whoever said that? Nudity is nudity...male or female, it's all the same. I can understand some of the guidelines being different (nipples on women not being shown), but I don't see how the definition of nudity changes. It may not be the European way, but it's the Noth American definition.

Why do you condider female nipples to be pornographic?

Remember the moronic Attorney General John Ashcroft (appointed to the office by President Shrub after Ashcroft lost a gubernatorial election to a DEAD MAN) who ordered a statue of a woman draped so that he wouldn't have to look at it?

BTW, I live in North America and, while I can't speak for my friends in Mexico and Canada, I can say that it certainly is not my definition of nudity.

I may be the next one to go, BUT I don't think Rob E. should ever put an avatar up for anyone period. Now removing one is fine. If he finds one offensive then remove it and just let it say "No avatar selected" like many posters do anyway.

I might find the one that Rob E. would pick out to be offensive as well. I particularly would find the devil as my avatar extremely insulting to me.

I wouldn't call you a troublemaker. I would say you are opininated. Welcome to the club. There are other members of the "I've got an opinion and this is it" club.

I think it will take a while to get use to a new owner and his rules. And this early on the rules may change before we all settle in and get comfortable.

And I know that some rules are an attempt to keep the government out of this site. I know that I don't want to be contacted by federal officials and no one else does either. Freddie's real name and bogus charges are not what I want to read in the local paper. Remember that they don't have to get a conviction. Just make a charge, make you public to your comunity and then drop the charges. Fair, No. Legal, probably not according to the Consitution. But, hey that is a 200 year old doucment. Who needs it anymore? We have new people in charge now who don't really like that old piece of paper.

Dear Freddie53,

The avatar Rob e. removed, was one I had selected from the choices provided by Rob E. himself.
All these new rules are predicated on Rob e.'s personal opinions and tastes, nothing else.

I don't consider them pornographic, but the laws here do...so take it up with the powers that be, not with me. I didn't write the law. Can some of our Canadian members tell us what the law is about TV broadcasting up there?
Are nipples able to be shown or does that constitute full nudity?
What about in Mexico? For the time being, at least in the US, female nipples can't be shown in print or on TV, so we have to abide by it. I think it's unfail that a man can show his nipples but a woman can't show hers, but it's the way it is.

Oh, I've got a funny set of nipple laws for you. In Columbus Ohio, there was a city ordinance passed that permits women as well as men to go topless any time they want. It's the law. Now, we live in Ohio so rarely does anyone DO it, but during festivals and the like, it happens and theoretically I could go to the grocery topless and it would be legal. Now this is out on the street.

In strip joints, each ones has a different code of rules, attatches to their different jurisdictional liquor and adult entertainment liscenses. Some do NOT allow the view of nude nipples! However, if a stripper sees a guy at McDonalds, she is free to sit with him topless. What a fucked up world.

Well, like most kinds of censorship, it doesn't seem to end. You now cannot post "annoying" avatars, nor can you change them. ???

I think that someone's letting his own personal avatar go to his head (unless the "S" stands for something else?)

I don't understand the not changing avatars thing. TAG changes hers every month or so, but it's usually her face, so it's obvious who it is. I've changed mine before. People change their computer desktop wallpaper, so why not change avatars? The whole thing is getting out of hand now.

I already posted my concerns about it in the help section. I think he is a lot less slacked on it than it initially seemed. But still, personally I don't think it should be a rule or grounds for getting kicked off. JMO

Most of us are used to when Mark ran the site. He basically had no rules. You could do or say as you pleased as long as it wasn't too offensive. Toward the end though, he did ban nudity in the avatars as well....which a lot of people seem to be forgetting about. It's not like Rob implemented this new rule...it was a rule that was just let go when it was sold. I think too many people got carried away with it.

In Ontario women can bare their breasts in public. Very very few do.

Gwen Jacobs, a university student from Guelph, Ontario, fought the law and won after being charged for going topless on a hot day.

We generally see lots of boobies at Pride time in the parades. Lots of lesbians and straight women celebrate topless and with body paint which is essentially the same.

I have addressed this here http://www.lpsg.org/showthread.php?t=22891

I don't get why folks are upset about not having nudity in the Avatars. You can post all of the nudity that you want in the gallery - its' encouraged. However, some members are reading the forum at work, or where their screen is visible, and nudity without warning could cause them problems. If you have nude pictures, post them in the gallery. A link under your avatar will automatically appear encouraging anyone to click to see your photos.

What gives?

Well, yes it is true not so much the Master but I am a slave to the butt and have been known to stroke and pet them quite frequently. And in that rare instance poke and prod.

Hey Rob,

There are a few things. First, I don't know if you were on the site before it switched over to vbulletin, but when it was on Invision board, we had no dicks in avatars and there was a sign in age verification to get into the gallery. This enabled us to continue allowing minors into the forums, where they could make friends and get answers to their questions without being inundated with cock pics and the like, and protecting Mark's ass. None of us blame you for wanting to stay legal and safe. I think by not having to sign in to the gallery, it seems that more lip service is being paid to the attempt to protect minors than actual protections.

Nude ASSES are not pornographic, unless they are spread-cheeked. I saw no reason to eliminate what is okay to see on prime time television. Just like boobs are okay, but not nipples, should be the same for butts.

Changing avatars should be irrelevant, unless it is creating a problem for you to monitor who's is and is not appropriate. Once you have established some moderators, they can help with this though. Most of us here recognise each other by our personalities, not our avas. I don't know if that's unigue, but there are several people I know here very well of whom I've never seen a pic at all. We just don't get caught up in the "avatar for life" thing.

I know it's tough trying to please such a diverse crowd, I have every faith you'll get it squared.

Actually, you can't get into the gallery without being signed in. You can't sign in without confirming that you are 18 years old, or older.

I agree, but I just don't think it's appropriate for Avatars. Why not post your ass... and maybe more - yes, you Zora - in the gallery?

I know. Perhaps I should have said:
"I've already addressed that issue. If you want to further complain about it, go there instead of making 2 different threads about the same topic."

But I have a habit of trying to get my point off in a round-about way.

It's just occurred to me that these "little devils" in my avatar could theoretically fit quite neatly up an "asshole" whereupon they can then proceed to rummage about in there at will. Now if that ain't an offensive avatar, then HEY!
