There is no racism in the Tea Party. It's all a big white lie!

http://www.youtube.com/v/m_wwhXWqdUQ

The last clip in that video is such a tell as to just how clueless some people are on the issue of race and whether or not someone makes comments that are racist in nature. The man claims that since he's married to a woman who has dark skin, that his issue with Obama can't be about race or his skin color. That doesn't mean a thing. Case in point, my hubby of the last 6 years is white. If he stood by my side and I then proceeded to label another white person I didn't like as a c------, I would still be engaging in racist behavior.

Nobody at the NAACP is pointing to any particular person in the Tea Party and labeling them as a racist. Ben Jealous, the current president of the NAACP, said they would like to see people from the Tea Party encourage the offending parties to eliminate the bigotry and the racist messages that are emitting from it. And to be brutally honest, if any Conservative/Republican/Tea Party person wants to see their man (or woman) win their elections they better do that FAST.

Do any of you believe that all African-Americans hate White people? Do you believe that all A-A believe like Rev. Jeremiah Wright who said "God Damn America"? Do you believe that all A-A believe like Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan who said the federal government blew up the levees in New Orleans to kill Black folks? I believe that some Black folks believe the hate these people are teaching hate but we all know that most Black folks are too busy working and trying to make a living to hate. I believe the same about the Tea Party folks. They are trying to do what they think is best for America, just like Pres. Obama. Someone offered a $100,000 to anyone who could prove that the Tea Party members called members of Congress the N-word as some have claimed. With all of the cell phones available, no one has claimed the money in almost a year. Too often, when a person's values are questioned, they become defensive. Sadly, it has become too easy to shut folks up with whom you may disagree by calling them racist, homophobic, sexist or any other number of names for bigot. What infuriates many is the Tea Partiers will not be shut up by these tactics. Yes, there are a few racist in the Tea Party, just like Rev. Wright and Leader Farrakhan the are racist supporters of the Democrat Party. But I don't believe all Democrats are Black power radicals or communists. All you have to do is look back 40 years at the number of Democrats who voted for George Wallace in 1972. Were all of them racists?

And the drama continues...
Mark Williams, a noted Tea Party Leader, created a letter of "satire" and put it on his blog in what would could the most stupidest thing he could have ever done. The article, which was titled "Colored People change minds about emancipation", Williams referred to the president of the NAACP as "Tom's Nephew", and spun rhetorical hyperbole into unfounded racial attacks such as referring to people who oppose "smaller government" as black people looking for their "massa" to make decisions for them. And yes, it gets worse.

I really don't know if I should provide a link to this or post the letter as I think it would go against the TOS for some reason. But if I can only say one thing about this whole drama, is that members of the Tea Party (or people who associate themselves with it) really have no f***in' clue. None at all. On an interview with John King, Williams claimed that he did this to "slap some sense" into people who are too politically correct. All I want to know is would he or anyone else be willing to cope when the targets of his angst decide to slap back?
