Listending to a Nader interview online just now, Nadar says, "We will see if Obama is an Uncle Sam or an Uncle Tom."

Now it seems I'm behind the times because he also said this back in July (I typically don't pay attention when Nader speaks). The interviewer gave him a chance to recant, and he said it again.

I'm not even sure how to react to this, it kinda caught me off guard. I'm not a fan of Obama's, however saying something like this attacks far more than his political beliefs, like I said I'm really caught off guard. Not because someone said something like this, but because it came from Nader lol.

he's also said alot of other stuff about Obama...he is not a fan

    this is just one
    --
Speaking with Colorado's Rocky Mountain News, Nader accused Obama of attempting to "talk white" and appealing to "white guilt" in his quest to win the White House.
"There's only one thing different about Barack Obama when it comes to being a Democratic presidential candidate. He's half African-American," Nader told the paper in comments published Tuesday.
"Whether that will make any difference, I don't know. I haven't heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos. Payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What's keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white? He doesn't want to appear like Jesse Jackson? We'll see all that play out in the next few months and if he gets elected afterwards,"

Did Stinkmeanor or Ruckus get to Nader recently?
What a joke of a candidate. So much for the Independent Party! If they expect to get people on their side, they need to chill with the racist remarks!

As an person that really wants to see a viable third party, Nader needs to be punched in the face for setting it back by pulling this shit.

Nader, for all of his defense of the common man, is a closet racist.
    Always has been.

Should change his name to Nadir.

Nader is a fool - an old fool.

But then he's not the only old fool in this election.

you may not like McCain, but calling someone how has done far more in life then you ever have an "old fool", is really pathetic.

i am not voting for him, but sorry if i don't think of him as an "old fool".

I loved McCain eight years ago, but he's not the same anymore - he has sold his soul and is nothing but an old fool now.

He might have spent years in prison and have been tortured - I wouldn't want that for anybody - but it doesn't make you a leader - or a president.

So feel free to call me pathetic - I call them as I see them

You won't get a complaint from either side on this one. Republicans ignore him. Democrats blame him for Gore's loss in 2000. Even Independents think he messed up with this statement. Either way, I think calling him an old fool is being kind.

hardly...I respect Nader for having the guts to stand up for the things he determines are important outside of the two party system.

I may not agree with him, but he had a viewpoint that was not being addressed by either party...he had a right to run in 04 and he did so.

same as Perot, same as Anderson, and others.

anyone who has the guts to run against the corruption of the two parties is not a fool to me.

    sorry.

At the end of the day, he does have the "right". It doesn't make it right or accepted, but it is his right. I don't agree with it, but he can say whatever he wants.

    Any links for Nader?

    +1
Watching the evolution of McCain over the past eight years has been a sad thing.
