A UK Behaviour Change specialist and Leadership guru believes stripping off in the office will help boost employees' confidence and develop trust. Apparently by stripping off their clothes, staff could also strip away inhibitions and talk to each other more openly and honestly.
He said: "Inviting an organisation to go naked is the most extreme technique I've used. It may seem weird but it works. It's the ultimate expression of trust in yourself and each other."
Despite some initial reluctance, nearly all the staff took off all their clothes. Only one woman went fully naked. She said: "It was brilliant. Now that we've seen each other naked, there are no barriers.
"We weren't put under pressure. If we wanted to come to work clothed, or in our underwear, we could. But I love my body and wasn't ashamed."
At the end the usual phrases about it all having been an amazing "journey" and having "taught them so much" were obligingly recited.
For most people in the U.K., going to work in the nude is a very daunting prospect, but perhaps this extreme process will help them push their boundaries and become a close team that trusts each other enough to get naked together. I for one would give it a go.
