    Hi,

We all know that Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream is as famous for its outrageous names as it is for their innovative combinations. "Cherry Garcia" and "Wavy Gravy" are both tributes to their aging hipppy roots. How many can you name?

I have to stay out of this one somewhat: one of my past pride-and-joy students is an employee! And I have visited the plant and have fun stuff from there!

But as NudeYorker says: Is there anything besides Cherry Garcia? I will go one step farther than him and include Chunky Monkey! Both an orgasm with a spoon!

I've never in my life tasted Ben and Jerry's ice cream. I have heard of some of those names before though.

I did my on-the-road radio show from the Ben and Jerry's headquarters in Vermont and ask one of the executives if he had asked Jerry Garcia before putting out Cherry Garcia ice cream. He smiled and then said, "we forgot to ask, but I can assure you that Mr. Garcia is one of the highest-paid people on your payroll."

    Are you serious?

We have several Ben and Jerry's ice cream stores here, so you can just get a scoop if you want, rather than having to buy a pint at the grocery store. All the grocery stores here carry the ice cream, as well. The "premium" brands really are better because the air volume and fat content in the milk is higher. After eating Ben and Jerry's or Haagen Dazs, most regular ice cream tastes "light".

    Yes, unfortunately.

I don't think we have any Ben and Jerry's stores here, but I could be wrong. I've only been to the Baskin Robbins here once in my life anyway. I do love going to the Cold Stone Creamery that's near me. I usually stick to a local brand of ice cream called Creamland. Either that or the Blue Bunny, Breyer's or Dreyer's brands of ice cream. I should probably buy some Ben and Jerry's sometime, just to say I've tasted it, I guess.

It's just the best American ice cream, but I really prefer gelato in Italy.
I am a snob, I can't help it. My friends tease me about being pretentious, but I make no bones about it. LOL

I tend to like the fruit gelati. It is a tie between Mango, Peach and Lemon. Do you like "Romeo and Juliet"?( I am not even going to begin to try to spell it in Italian! LOL! )

    Romeo e Guilietta

I like lemon sorbetto, but for gelati, I prefer pistacchio or Vanilla (vaniglia)
