So during the Olympics opening, NBC refered to Betty Fox ( the woman who created the Terry Fox Foundation, which kept alive the memory of her son, that raises millions and millions of dollars for Cancer research)
as the mother of Michael J Fox. I know that TV comentators are not
the brightest peoplke in the world, but do they not have researchers who
are generally smarter than that ????

Really?! I completely missed that. What an insult to her, and to Terry's memory. Was it Costas or Lauer? Costas also "misspoke" when he referred to Canada's flag, saying it replaced a varaiation on the british union jack; it was actually a variation on the red ensign, which does contain a small union jack but is a completely separate flag. Not doing their research obviously.

All you have to do is watch any local TV news show in any city in the US and you'll hear something earthshakingly dumb.
