Generally if the mold is soft it's intended to be used for softer set recipes, such as candies or chocolates. But those soft molds can be used for ice too.

Thanks to all!

They are soft silicone molds, which I associate with chocolate or candy making, but rigid enough to transfer safely to the freezer full of water.

Hmm, will give them a go as ice cube trays this afternoon.

Candy molds or for jell-o.
Heart-shaped jell-o shots? Oh, hell yeah! :biggrin1:

You can use them for both but I'd put the trays on a plate or a cookie sheet other wise you'll spill the water before you get them into the freezer because they are a bit floppy..

Edit: I've also seen them used as votive candle molds.

You're right, the heart-shaped mold was a floppy bitch (kinda fitting actually ) and will need a plate. The rest were steady and the cubes turned out so cute!

They would be good for jello shots!~
First night I make jell-o shots, you are more than welcome to join us. :)

They're candy molds. I remember one time, my father had these molds of a busty woman, well, I found some cherries and put them into the breast portion. Got some good laughs.
You and boobies.

Hey that was my father's idea- I prefer the real deal, and you know it. One of these months, I'll have free time somewhere and visit you to prove it :naughty:.

Woo hoo, coffee, coffee, coffee~! Finally!
I'm calling you out for sometime in Jan, Big PKG, and I know the perfect cafe above Bryant Park.

What are jello shots?
A delicious way to get fucked up?:biggrin1:
I dislike the taste of alcohol, so must disguise it in Sangria or Jell-o shots, which are just sugar, flavoring, a fairly strong spirit, and, preferably, food coloring so they're pink. :08:

They're novelty ice cubes molds. On sale in most stores here in Ireland but due to being silicon based they can be used for chocolates as well.
After being in the freezer, the molds have become too rigid for chocolate, but perfect for cubes. Thanks!

Love the thread.
:)

I have a recommendation from our vegan food stash - Peanut Butter and Company's peanut butter products are vegan, organic, and as the bf says, taste so good there might be a little crack sprinkled in. :biggrin1: Haven't seen the brand in California yet, but if you do, definitely recommend giving one of the flavors a try.
