Holding the Man takes place in Australia in the 1970s into the 90s. If you would like to learn what some older gay folks went through back then, this might be a good movie for you. Good points: Australia, great music, good plot. Downsides: Depressing end, can be heavy. This recommendation brought to you through the generosity of an LPSG member who lets me watch on her account :p

Netflix doesn't really have a wide variety of LGBTQ themed films unfortunately and they don't seem to update them very frequently. 4th Man Out was very good and light-hearted comedy. Tubi on the other hand has a much better selection. It's completely free, but does have a few quick commercials. These don't cut any parts of the film. There just there as it's free. Even if there's four in a row I've never seen them last longer than 15 to 20 seconds collectively. If it's available to you check it out.
