Hey! That's one of my senators you're talking about! Never voted for him. Even if he had espoused fixing social issues I could get on board with, I would never have voted for him. His hair is just a little bit too perfect. One should always suspect perfect hair.
But what didn't seem to make similar waves in the USA national news is when our hallowed Republican Governor Gibbons was embroiled in a similar scandal before last year's election. It was a wonderful romp for even some of the Nevada GOP as well as all of us who are not aligned with the GOP or the Dems. Gibbons was not allowed to stay in the Governor's Mansion as his wife continued to use one of the rooms as her personal "office" in the capacity of First Lady of the Silver State.
Governor Gibbons is also carved from the same pithy clay as Senator Ensign. The more a politician hides behind church, morality, and family the more likely the odds he or she is going to be found getting a hummer through a glory hole or hiring a political party "researcher" who moonlights as a masseur/masseuse famous for polishing off a rub down with a "happy ending."
I actually have changed my satellite subscriptions to include CNN, MSNBC, FOX and a bunch of other crap I don't need just to follow this Ensign saga while living in Spain. And it ain't cheap. Odd as it may seem, National Public Radio, which I frequently listen to via my PC sounded much more forgiving than the US Cable/Satellite and broadcast news outlet. I swear, Nina Totinberg (sp?) is starting to show her GOP colors.
But most of us Nevadans are overjoyed with the Ensign scandal. We always love a good scandal out in the wild and woolly west.
