Poor Senator Ensign will not say if he was boffing the wife or the husband.
My "guilty pleasure" from all of this is that he called for the impeachment of Bill Clinton and the resignation of Larry Craig.......another 2012 repub pres prospect bites the dust.
apparently Ensign will not be promoted to Admiral on the poopdeck of the SS Repugnantcan any time soon. time to rearrange the deck chairs, Newt !
It gets better:
Daily Kos: Fox, Coburn knew about affair before Ensign's admission
A week before John Ensign's admission that he'd carried on an affair with a former political aide, her husband wrote a letter to Fox anchor Megyn Kelly detailing the affair and appealing to Kelly and Fox for help.
The husband, Doug Hampton, told Kelly that Ensign's actions had ruined his family. "I am hoping you and Fox News can help," he wrote......."
Is it possible that Fox contacted Ensign as a way of assisting Doug Hampton and bringing the whole thing to light?
In his letter he lays all the blame on the Senator. What about his cheating wife? Seems to me she had as much to do with ruining his family's life as Ensign did.
More on the Senator:
Daily Kos: Tom Coburn has got some explaining to do
Republicans, making families happen.
It doesn't amaze me at all. Republican buffoon Rush Limberger has had how many marriages and has to use viagra?
Small world. Republicans can't keep their pants on.
Rush only uses Viagra when he has his boyfriend over and who knows why because i'll bet Rush is a big ol bottom. I have one question why would Faux News help someone go after a Repb senator?
This whole thing just keeps gettin better and better.
:banana:More Republican sex scandals. Yay!
Please don't insult us bottoms......
Hey! That's one of my senators you're talking about! Never voted for him. Even if he had espoused fixing social issues I could get on board with, I would never have voted for him. His hair is just a little bit too perfect. One should always suspect perfect hair.
But what didn't seem to make similar waves in the USA national news is when our hallowed Republican Governor Gibbons was embroiled in a similar scandal before last year's election. It was a wonderful romp for even some of the Nevada GOP as well as all of us who are not aligned with the GOP or the Dems. Gibbons was not allowed to stay in the Governor's Mansion as his wife continued to use one of the rooms as her personal "office" in the capacity of First Lady of the Silver State.
Governor Gibbons is also carved from the same pithy clay as Senator Ensign. The more a politician hides behind church, morality, and family the more likely the odds he or she is going to be found getting a hummer through a glory hole or hiring a political party "researcher" who moonlights as a masseur/masseuse famous for polishing off a rub down with a "happy ending."
I actually have changed my satellite subscriptions to include CNN, MSNBC, FOX and a bunch of other crap I don't need just to follow this Ensign saga while living in Spain. And it ain't cheap. Odd as it may seem, National Public Radio, which I frequently listen to via my PC sounded much more forgiving than the US Cable/Satellite and broadcast news outlet. I swear, Nina Totinberg (sp?) is starting to show her GOP colors.
But most of us Nevadans are overjoyed with the Ensign scandal. We always love a good scandal out in the wild and woolly west.
