Well on one hand (left) my ring finger is much longer - but on my right hand, they're the same size.
(I'm left-handed btw - if that makes any difference, lol).

It might do actually - more left handed guys than girls, far more autistic guys than girls. Like finger ratio brain development is apparently linked with testosterone levels in the womb.

I took an online survey a couple of years back on the BBC website "how male or female is your brain?". I came out with an extreme male brain - I think that's why I'm attracted to guys - don't understand how a girl's mind works and have absolutely no desire to find out. Actually my score was borderline autistic...

Heheh - I'm slightly obsessive so I dunno if I've got that Autistic/Asperger's thing goin on. :p

Yeh - I'm kinda pleased my left hand is the one with the long ring-finger, but dunno if it makes any difference - interesting though.

Not sure about being attracted to men cos ur masculine - I kinda had this theory about ppl being attracted to what was different. Masculine ppl attracted to girls or feminine blokes cos its different and intruiging...and more feminine ppl attracted to masculine types for the same reason. Maybe it doesnt hold true tho...

The theory says that if your index and ring fingers are about the same length and you are male the odds are that you are homosexual (or at least bi).
No option for bi men?
What if you're not any of the above?
Guess he forgot to include that in the polls.

Yes, yes it does.

My foot is considerably longer than my erect penis. Interestingly, my thumb is as long as my nose. My middle finger is longer than all the other fingers. My pinky finger is longer on my left hand than on my right hand (I am ambidexterous but I jerk off with my right hand). The point is, I don't think fingers or body parts have anything to do with sexual identity.

I didn't forget to include it... I just didn't want to have a crazy number of options in the poll... that's why I said choose the one that best describes you... if you are bi, odds are you aren't exactly 50-50... choose which ever is closest to you... do you prefer guys or girls?.. are you more straight or gay?

the results look the same for straight and gay men

So this theory doesn't seem to work

I thought finger ratio was linked to the amount of testosterone in your body - and I didn't think there is any correlation between amount of testosterone and sexual preference

Yeah... I came to the same conclusion.

But the ratio is said to be proportional to the amount of testosterone or estrogen in the uterus while you are developing.

I just tested the data so far for statistical significance using the chi-square test. These are the results:
chi-square = 2.56
degrees of freedom = 2
probability = 0.278

To translate that into layman's terms, there's about a 1/3 chance that there is no correlation between finger ratio and sexual orientation. A 1/20 chance would usually be considered significant. If we get more data though, we may reach this level of significance.

Keep the survey answers coming in guys - the more data, the more even a small difference between groups can be shown to be significant.

The indications so far are that longer ring fingers are more common in straight guys and the probability that there is no link is now only about 1 in 8. If it hits 1 in 20 I'll let you know as that would be considered reasonable proof.

Hello LSPG, although this is my first post, I am not new to the discussion of the penis. In fact, you can call me, a sort of Urological Amateur, as I have spent many years of both my youth, and my years as a man, reading countless articles and doing relentless research about the facts of the penis.

I have recently stumbled on a Theory, called the "Digit Theory". The most simplest I can put it, is that the ratio of your Ring Finger compared to your Index Finger is a highly accurate way to determine the amount of Testosterone in one's body. To put it bluntly, the longer your Ring Finger is, the more testosterone you should have.

It doesn't take a genius to know that Penis size has been attributed to testosterone levels. Other things have been attributed to testosterone, including the deepness of one's voice, the bulkiness of one's shoulders, the height in which one shall grow, overall aggressiveness, sports prowess, muscles obsession, and lifetime reproductive successes.

It's also worth to note, that studies have found that after one experiences an orgasm, testosterone production experiences a temporary boost. It's also been discovered that after an intensive workout, testosterone levels will tend to drop. In other words, the more you masturbate, the more testosterone you should have. However, I always did wonder what would happen if masturbation was your main workout.

So, to conclude that briefing about Testosterone, here's what I said simplified:

1. Testosterone affects Penis Size
2. Testosterone production increases after masturbation
3. Testosterone levels decreases after intensive workout

Now that we have got the sciency stuff out of the way, here's my request to you, LPSG. I would love for all "big" men out there on LPSG to do this:

1. Get Camera
2. Flatten your hand on a table, with the palm facing you
3. Lay a ruler next to it
4. Take picture of hand/ruler
5. Post it here

If you could, please also include your penis measurments, length, width, and girth. This would be a highly significant contribution to my studies of urololgy and a highly significant contribution to science as a whole. Thanks to whoever decides to do this.

Hi, from what I have read in the past, the 2D:4D ratio of the fingers is determined by how much testosterone the fetus produces while in the womb. It is set for the rest of life at this point and doesn't have anything to do with the levels of testosterone as an adult. If a fetus produces more testosterone in the womb than usual then it is probably more likely to produce more testosterone than usual throughout the rest of life but not necessarily. So there may be some correlation but 2D:4D ratio wouldn't be a reliable marker for penis size. All you could say would be that the likeliness for having a big penis would go up slightly if you had a lower 2D:4D ratio.
