Could be that people haven't caught on yet or haven't found the time to move all of their files over. Hell, I do Epinions reviews on a regular basis and find that for all the 30 minutes or less it takes to draft one, my brain doesn't want to click.

I drafted a [link=http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LPSG_ORG/surveys?id=950933]poll[/link] surveying the members, and it's just shy of a 50-50 split. Though I could have done without the porn and the spam, MSN operated a little more efficiently / swifter than its Yahoo counterpart. And for some reason, I hardly find anyone in chat no matter what time of day it is. Either we're scared to mess around with the new stuff... or maybe there's a declining interest...

Granted, I think everybody's going to love the photos, but I think most of the chatting that goes on between the members is over instant message programs on their own free time.

prepstudinsc: I'm in agreement with Dee that MSN just operated more smoothly. It takes forever to get the Yahoo chat to come up, while on MSN, it was instantaneous. I would expect things to be slow if I was on dial up, but I'm broadband. I just think that it hasn't caught on yet. I check the Yahoo chat perodically through the day and so far I've only caught people on it a couple of times.

Longhornjok: Well, since MSN chat wasn't Mac-friendly, I never even remember the chat area exists. I wonder if Yahoo chat is less PC-centric. ???

CardiffDillon: I'm often in the chatroom, and there have been times when even the new chatroom has had a fair sized crowd of around 10 or 12 people. Numbers seem to have fallen off lately and I've hardly seen anyone in there for days.

I have suggested recently that we try a schedule so that people would know when to congregate there. I know that if I go there and I don't see anyone within a couple of minutes I leave, it could be that we're all doing the same, and just missing each other. I can't believe that 750 people would join the chatsite not to participate.

I'm not quite sure how a schedule might work, perhaps people could suggest different formats? Maybe we could announce a big re-union at the chatroom on a particular day so that we could get to know each other a little better.

cheers
