Tomorrow night, I will be ushering in the New Year at an apartment owned by two bears. Many friends will be there, including one who is leaving for distant parts in one week. It should be a good shindig.

I don't have many past New Year's celebrations on file ... except for December 31, 1999, when I ushered in the Year 2000 in a native sweat lodge.

Seemed a good idea at the time.

I'll be party hopping through the suburbs in the Upstate of S. Carolina and then watching a grand fireworks display over someones lake. It should be rather enjoyable

YOu know you are not right! LOL!

Bah, I am loveable, naughty.

If you were in the GTA area on that night - perhaps even within a Toronto-centred radius curving though Burlington-Aurora-Uxbridge-Whitby - you probably saw the flash.

I probably was in the area then, Rob.

New years is awfully entertaining.

This year will be tuxs and cocktail dresses, lots of champagne and dancing. Glitz and glamour ( I know Mercurial, not your fave, but I am a creature of habit)

The best New Years tho were long ago, smoking pot with friends on the beach, looking for that perfect wave on the isolated beaches of Baja.

Or staying up all night in Pasadena, smoking pot and drinking wine(cheap) waiting for the Rose Parade, cranking Led Zeppelin or the Who.

2007, was at home alone feeling ill.

I just wish for you a change of attitude in your seing things and have a bit more optimism...I'm tellig that not wanting to be rude at all but only to reenforce what an inteligent person already knows deep inside but do not follow steps for changes: That if we are pessimist we are going to attract the same persons as us..if we are depressed, anger whatever we are going to attract that same crowd. Dont waste your time feeling sorry for yourself, life is very precious live it in full.

Fun people avoid doom people..because of misery they can carry around like a shadow...ok we all are miserable at crises, some life fases, hopefully short ones because if not we need to do something about it. And the soon the better.

This end of 2006 I've lost 3 old friends in Brasil..one of them father of 4 kids, this is really sad and tragic. :sadwavey: Goodbye my dear friends.

How am I supposed to be optimistic about being sick?

Alright, my optimistic reinterpretation of how I spent my New Year's Eve night of 2006: I guess I didn't die. whoopee.

Hmm...explains the smartass comments i've received in recent days.

Thank you. and I do feel better today. Still a bit of a headache.

Glad to hear it. The fact that you feel better, not the headache.

Gisella, I love your inner and outer beauty. You have a good outlook and I learn from you. Sorry for your losses. I understand. I believe the ones left behind, obviously, are worse off. Those who have left us are in a better place. Gisella my sister  happy new year!!
and to all of you, happy new year and thank you for your warmth and welcomes to me on this forum. Wouldnt give it up for anything!
