Say, do you know if Yahoo Webcams doesn't support Windows 95 anymore?

Sounds like fun.

"Sorry, darling, but I can't date you on Nov. 1st"

"No, dear, it's not another woman."

"Oh, shit. Now it's started."

:D

Hmm...Windows 95... I dont believe the new software supports the old FAT16 file system.

This is what Yahoo recommends you have:
"System Requirements
Hardware
Pentium class processor
Dialup - 300MHz or more
Cable or DSL - 350MHz or more
T1 or LAN - 600MHz or more
At least 64MB RAM
A connection to the Internet
A Yahoo! Messenger compatible webcam

Software
Windows 98/NT/2000/Me/XP
Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4.0 or later)
Yahoo! Messenger Webcam is currently only supported under Windows and Mac.

If you are having a problem broadcasting your webcam, please take our webcam compatibility test. "

The reason for these requirements is that an older system will just bog down and lock up. It cant handle the instructions coming in, AND most 95 systems do not handle USB functionality.
To get a cam to work with forced hardware is just trouble waiting to happen.
I would try to upgrade to 98 Second Edition or XP. (Win ME is just a Nightmare)

You can get Win98SE relatively cheap. Check out http://www.pricewatch.com

Hope this helps, and Hope to see you there on Saturday!

awellhungboi: Thanks, Corey. I ask because my cam used to work great on Yahoo. I've had it and used it for a few years. I have a Quickcam that has a parallel cord, not USB. But it just stopped working, so I guess Yahoo doesn't support it anymore. Oh well. :(

Not to sound like a fanatic, but I'm not going to buy anymore Windows products, if I can help it. I'm going to stick with my computer now, and upgrade to a Mac or one of them bionic androids one of these days.

tracksuitboy: Sounds fab, although it will be midnight in the UK, so apologies for being half asleep!! Never done this before, so how does it work. Do I click on "chat" in the Yahoo Messenger menu and then find the LPSG room (if so, where is it?).

awellhungboi: Hi TSB. Actually, the chatroom will be a regular yahoo chat room, created, I suppose by Rikter, since he seems to be the leader of this one. Around the time of the chat send out an IM to somebody, and they can get you in. Maybe folks could post their YIM's here. Mine's

besame_monstro

Look forward to chatting with you!
