Next year will bring "more surprises, twists and turns", according to Marc Cherry, the gay creator, who has other gays on his writing staff.

Alfre Woodard's character is up to no good and Marcia Cross, who plays our uptight Bree Van de Camp, carefully dropped second-season tidbits at a panel discussion dubbed "Queer is Just a Frame of Mind on Wisteria Lane" -- part of Outfest 2005: The 23rd Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.

Cherry added: "I think any time you get four or five really strong women doing desperate, dastardly things, I think gay men get a big kick out of it. The moment you put a woman in an evening gown mowing the lawn, it's just gay." -- May I add especially one who looks as hot as Gabrielle :9

Well, any comments?

Hi Luke,

who would I be NOT to be the first responder on this thread...

I can imagine a few more, pretty outright issues this series has for guys - just think of the bodies of the one or other male stars of it (John, Mike...)...

Otherwise, I can still add another rumor, something that's making me sad - Teri Hatcher is gonna leave the show in 2006. Mourning now, already.

Hi, my fellow DH fan:

How disappointed I would have been had you NOT been the first responder :excl:

Okay, you've talked me into thinking about the bodies of some of the present male stars (John, Mike...), as well as looking forward to learning what new-comer Betty's son has to offer along those lines. For the few minutes we have gotten to see him so far, he seems to be a stalwart youth perhaps only a few years younger than you, Bruce, with possibly your height but not as well filled out as you.

I'm hoping that Andrew will be brought back into the picture, too, since Bree needs the help of both her children during her time of tumult re. Rex. Westeria Lane isn't short on masculine bodies for admiring and pleasure seeking.

I understand your disappointment re. the thoughts of this being Terri's last season for DH. You will have to even enjoy her more while you still have her and rest assured that there will be others to whet your interest and bone up your ample appendage.

Take care,
Luke

I did some research on IMDB about Mehcad Brooks - who plays Matthew, Betty's son - and found out that he's 6'3" - exactly my height. Haven't seen enough of him for a well-based judgement of his abilities, but I'm sure we'll see some deft things with him. I can imagine him to be (probably) John's successor with Gabrielle.

My notion is that Rex isn't dead at all - did we see a corpse? We didn't, did we? And one thing I have learned about DH is to trust nothing I haven't seen with my own eyes. I think a living Rex re-appearing could be a treat for the mystery-line of threads.

You should stop when it's nicest, isn't it like that? Plus, I think the thread of love-seeking Susan Mayer has come to an end, something has to happen. Living happily ever after doesn't fit into the concept of DH. But I think Desperate Housewives won't be the last thing we've heard from The Beautiful Teri Hatcher - she's gonna have more offers for TV and silver screen roles, bigger ones, I mean, from now - so I'll have to watch out!

If only I were as adept as you and could "pull out" each portion of your post to answer individually, I would have reached a milestone in my quest for computer proficiency, Bruce, but, alas, pamper me with your attention to my ackward respondings.

Thanks for the info re. Mehcad Brooks. I was right on the money guessing his height similar to yours! (... just love it when I happen to be right!) He with Gabrielle would be steamy to say the least and cause me to have thoughts of full-pledged porno instead of the boarder-line risque semi of DH.

I hope Rex didn't bite the dust and we get to see him and Bree work through their time of trials and get down to some marriage bed tumbles. I think when Bree divotes her full attention to being laid it is with the same drive and concentration she has with her obsession for perfection. In other words, the perfect fuck :excl:

Yes, stop when you're on top (so to speak). I think Hatcher's popularity from DH has her in control of her future endeavors and I know you'll be able to continue enjoying your pick-of-the-lot in future ventures. I'm pulling for you, B

Well, that's easy - all you have to do is to cut the quoted block by putting a <[/QUOTE]> in the text where you want to cut it, and the trigger line <
to begin the next quotation paragraph, of course with out the brackets "<" and ">". Simple, once you find it out.

He is my height, but if you check out his biography, you see he comes from modelling, which is something I'd never do - ummm, well, we are just two completely different characters. You also see he's at least 30 or 40 pounds lighter than my 220. Still, I think he and Gabrielle, or he and Edie, would make a real porn couple - at least in our fantasy. Too bad there's no hardcore, XXX-rated version of DH, or no possibility for us to slip into the screen and appear in the world of the show. Life sucks.

I'm sure Rex and Bree are a hot couple - lately they repeated the episode during which she visits him at his motel room in lingerie and a fur coat. If you think of what would have happened happen if there hadn't been that darn dripping burrito - name it, hot, sweaty reunification sex until the walls rattle off the building and the lungs are singing halleluja... well, that'd be worth some porn fantasy too! The perfect fuck, you name it. Just remember what she tells to their counsellor what she likes about sex.

TH is absolutely underrated - just because she played a singing mermaid at the beginning of her career, which rolled to a near-stop quickly after Superman, doesn't mean she's a bad actress. In her case, it's a clear lack of chances to show what she can do. Still, her future are TV prime time features or the silver screen - another series would damage her, after her DH stint I think she'd easily be put into the awkward-girl category.

Rex is definately dead apparently but he will appear in flash backs. The creator has promised john will go to jail to allow for gabrielle to get a new lover and this will lead to some of her most dramatic scenes (i sense a death). Also the new woman who moved in in the last episode has someone locked in her basement. Oh and Edie's getting a family

www.spoilerfix.com is where i got the stuff about Rex, Edie and Gabrielle. And if you go on the DH website and look at the pictures for the finale, there is one with the new woman with a tray and a rose on it, in the basement smiling at someone inside a room.

If you were a prosecutor and I was the defendant's counsellor, you'd better prepare for a defeat now - the value of these "exhibits" is near zero. There's so much garbage being posted on Internet forums (of course, except LPSG), I'd not trust them too much. And about Alfre Woodward smiling into the basement room, well - it's not necessarily a person you have to smile at, maybe she has the corpse of her dead hubby lying there.

Thanks for "quoting" directions, Bruce, this is my first attempt, so, lets see what happens. I agree it could be either Gabrielle or Edie, but I do list them in that order. I would even be happy to sit back and watch your being in the show.

I'm sure Rex and Bree are a hot couple - lately they repeated the episode during which she visits him at his motel room in lingerie and a fur coat. Sure, how could I forget her descriptive intercourse report to their counsellor. That has been one of the most graphic portrayals in the series and definitely turned on the counsellor, too.

TH is absolutely underrated - just because she played a singing mermaid at the beginning of her career, which rolled to a near-stop quickly after Superman, doesn't mean she's a bad actress. Hopefully she'll avoid any damage in the future. I'm wondering if she already knows what she'll do post DH. I haven't seen any announcement re. that, have you?

She sez she wants to go back into movies.

As filming for the second season of Desperate Housewives gets underway, more teasers of the planned storylines are beginning to emerge.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association tour, series creator Marc Cherry confirmed that Rex Van De Kamp (Steven Culp) is definitely dead: "There was a scene in the finale which made it really, really clear. Because we were long, I cut it. I thought the phone call [from the doctor to Bree] did it. I did not mean to confuse the fans in any way."

Cherry also explained how Rex’s mother, who will be played by Shirley Knight, will have a “battle royale” with Bree (Marcia Cross) over Rex’s funeral.

Other titbits included information on Wisteria Lane’s latest addition, Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodward). "Her character was a concert pianist," he teased. "She's going to be involved in something pretty gothic on the show - pretty dark and spooky."

According to Get Desperate, Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) will also find out Mike’s true relation to Zach, Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) will have a relationship which annoys Susan – presumably with Susan’s ex-husband Karl Mayer (Richard Burgi) – and Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) will finally convince Carlos (Ricardo Shavira) that she is carrying his baby, not John Rowland’s (Jesse Metcalfe).

Nostradamus actress Joely Fisher will also guest star as a boss of Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) when she starts back at work - but "in a surprising way."

Hi there,

I can back up sexy_beast on the future plans for Teri, and that there are no definite projects she's being linked with at the moment. But she has to take care now and avoid being put into the same role model she played on DH, as the lovely, but awkward lady-in-distress. We have seen where this can lead with women like Meg Ryan or Sandra Bullock, who had to sustain the crash of any other than their romantic comedy movies.

Now, Edie and Carl vs. Susan and Mike (just supposedly) sounds like the stuff for an even more royal battle... I smell a lot of evil attacks, which will be a great counterbalance for the gothic storyline around Betty. Speaking of gothic storylines, I'm not so sure whether that's the right kind of secret for this series, I'm more the crime type than the spooky type.

I'm VERY SORRY that we lost Rex/Steven Culp as credited member of the ensemble. I guess he just was the steadiness in all the chaos around him, a bearer of sympathy as character as well as in his role. Too bad we won't see any reunification sex scene with him and Bree, or see how he sacks the evil, jealous pharmacist.

Purely speculation, but after hearing George will be a regular cast member in the next series i'm guessing he will try and make Rex's death look wither like suicide or like someone else did it. Also I have a feeling the doctor will alert the police about Bree being a suspect and Bree will be arrested and George will have to admit it was him to stop his love going to jail.

Also Bree's life is going to get a lot worse as Andrew is going to end up in court after a fight with Justin, apparently this season Andrew is going to carry out his plans to ruin Bree's life.

As for the battle royale with Edie and Susans ex vs Susan and Mike, i think this will provide the comic relief for the series as Betty Ablewhite's characters story is so dark (Btw she definately has someone she loves locked in her basement, just wonder what happened to them, this is to do with the son making a grave mistake)

Anywayz whatever happens i'm sure the show will get better and the storylines will have us all speculating about what's going on.

Hi DH Fans,

I like the crime threads, but I am no fan of gothic/mystery/psycho stuff - the first season's mystery about Mary Alice' suicide and the background of Mike Delfino was more attractive to me. Plus, I don't consider Alfre Woodward as THAT attractive (NO, NO, NO - I have no racist attitude, it's just a matter of my taste!!!). I was completely fine with the threads of the first season, it was 100% compatible with my tastes, even though normally I'm no buff of TV series.

That's why I'm really interested in what season #2 will bring us - season one put up high standards.

Season 1 certainly brought on the dialogue between us, Bruce. I just hope next season will provide the same stimulation. The OC and American Idol, along with DH, changed me into a tv series regular. Now I don't know what will ever change me back to the pre DH days. Oh, well, it could be worse :excl:
