He does use engagement groups on Instagram to boost his followers and likes and comments and asks people to share his content, and he asks photographers to do a free photoshoot to stay relevant when he knows people are losing interest. I feel like it's just around the corner when Nick will probably start to figure out what he really wants to do with his life. Something completely different than weird life that's been going on for him.
I could be wrong but it's very possible that he's starting to get bored with his same dull weekly routine. No matter if it's his social media life or his secret behind the scenes personal life with all the random guys and traveling all the time. Never having a real place to call home or a real meaningful relationship with one person.
He has also run out of ideas on how to keep his followers entertained, and it's been that way for quite some time now. Nick is still hot but he's not the only hot guy on social media so people will eventually start drifting towards other hot guys, especially the new faces. I never thought I would lose interest in Nick Sandell, Steve Cook, Ethan Ban, and more, but I did.

Bingo. My guess there is a "circuit" of very discrete wealthy queens and DL clients that keep their boytoys a secret. The boytoys keep their own blacklist of untrustworthy clients, and ones that pay and keep their trap shut. I am sure Aaron and Alec are experts in this arena and now Nick is, as well. I suspect Dylan Gieck was too, but then really went and pissed someone the fuck off. I think if Nick was straight and into girls it would have happened by now.
