I had both done, took out the bars for too long and couldn't get them back in; that was a long time ago.
Then got the left one done again, I think it sets off the tattoo, and although I've changed the jewelry, I've kept it in this time.
I really enjoy having it and seeing peoples reactions to it.
But, I would say that it is the most painful piercing I've had.
My advice - get it done; if you don't like it, take it out!
I must respectfully disagree with you, Faydreh. I had my right nipple pierced with a 14k gold curved barbell. I would religously clean it every morning I showered. But I would always have tiny crusties on it the following morning with the slight odor that Eco mentions. Never had any complaints on the smell from my wife or our swing playmates, but I would noticed it every now and then. I even tried anti-biotic ointments on it after the shower. Nothing worked so I just lived with it. A few yrs later the barbell broke and I replaced it with a surgical steel ball capture with a spike. Lo and behold......no more smell or tiny crusties  It was just my body's negative reaction to the gold. So sometimes it has nothing to do with hygiene :wink:Also, if after your piercings are healed and you rotate/wash off the jewelry in the shower when you bathe every day, they won't have any funk, so.... that was just somebody that didn't know how to take care of their piercings, yo
I've been thinking about getting one or both of mine pierced. My nipples are very small and I get no real sensation our of them. Recently I've been playing with them and they've started to get a little bigger and feel pretty good. I'm wondering if piercing them will help out any. I'm just concerned because they are so small.... literally, I can cover them up with a dime.
