I think it has do to with the emerge of the porn industry in to a big market business, and that is always oriented to satisfy the demands of the target audience. And man seem to be more willing to pay for those products (or easier to trick into it?) and therefore are the dominant target audience.
This leads to all the porn being shot out of the male perspective, in difference to some older porn which was more just the filming of normal sexual activity. Yes and I used to consider myself more of a conservative person. But now I have so many friends (off the internet) that have taught me that it is ok as a woman to make the choice to be with someone you want.
