Oh and this comes from a man who could only come up.with a bisexual and a racist antisemitic jerk as his examples.
Dude, you put the I, the do and the it in idiot.
Is Tony Curtis a bisexual? Perhaps. He denied it in one of his volumes of autobiography.
Back in his 20s, he said he had had sex with women, men and animals after arriving in H'wood at the age of 22.
I don't know how much credence one should give this.
He was married I think six times, had sexual contact with over a thousand women, I believe it's often said. (Who knows?)
I think the stronger argument would be that he probably wasn't homophobic.
A rumour that he was homophobic began when he reportedly criticized, in what some took to be a homophobic way, the movie
Bareback Mountain.
He later claimed he was misquoted.
And he apparently expressed affection for his numerous gay fans.
On top of that, he often played characters who seemed to have homosexual undertones.
So Mr. Curtis seems an absurd example of a homophobe.
I don't see much relevance in the fact that Mel Gibson's best known homophobic remarks were made two decades ago. What difference does that make? Anyway, he continues to say homophobic things. He counselled Heath Ledger not to take the role of Ennis in
Brokeback Mountain because it offended his sense of morality, for example. This only makes sense given his involvement in Opus Dei.
All that said, a claim that all homophobes are "fugly" is stupid on its very face. Why would better looking people be exempt from being homophobic? It makes no sense.
I wouldn't say idiot, just overly impassioned and unwilling to listen to any other opinion.
See, those are the traits that to me equal idiot.
