Even the Young Turks, another bastion of left wing politics, has come out against Orwellian 'wrongthink' purges:

I don't follow the Young Turks like I used too. Sometimes I agree, sometimes not which is pretty typical, but there are times when they seem to be waaaay around the bend. Right now, I can't t call up a soecific, but Cync is a little too much for me these days.

What about Noam Chomsky? The thing is, when you've been hit with a twitter purge you sort of understand why this sort of behaviour is so toxic. I don't agree with Cenk on everything either, obviously. But I certainly agree with him here.

Twitter purges are usually temporary. Twitter has been railing on Trump forever. Yet here he is.

I don't mean bans (although they disproportionately affect the right, especially shadow bans. I don't think that shadow banning is ethical. Unless the abuses of a platform are egregious). Banning Trump I think would be an own goal for Twatter. I mean the use of social media platforms to harass, bully, intimidate and generally ruin the lives of individuals and their families (because of political or personal differences only) in real life.

I guess this thread is too cerebral for the screeching anti-Trump bots and the cancel freaks who search everyone's posts for microagressions

You're posting with the frenzy of someone who is on a diuretic and is locked out of the loo. Feeling okay? You seem a bit torqued - well, more than usual.

I guess this is allowable in the 'Alice Through The Looking Glass' school of internet etiquette.
What, about 5 posts in an hour? Wow you wouldn't like to see me off the leash then. Indeed, I can't see any justification for your asseveration. However, perhaps due to weak wifi or some other strange technical issue, I've noticed a couple of duplicates from me (or quasi-duplicates). Is that what you are talking about? If not would it be rude of me to ask what in flying copulation you are blathering about?

*yawns*

Anyone would think you were simply doing it for a rise.

No, I'm not. Is inciting debate 'doing it for a rise'? These are real world issues, so much so many intellectuals were willing to sign this open letter. Doesn't free speech matter? Just because the BBC doesn't care and considers this 'fringe', won't make admirers of freedom and free speech be silent.

Free speech is grand.

However, language like "I guess this thread is too cerebral for the screeching anti-Trump bots and the cancel freaks who search everyone's posts for microagressions" suggests yr doing it for a rise.
