I am plenty emotional. Operation Rescue members threw trash on me as I was escorting women into clinics for a full array of healthcare. Including a woman losing her son, but no hospital would see her.

I didn't think that was the best choice of words, being that she didn't seek out these "religious" people to gain financial benefit.

The fact that she took the money knowing the impact it would have for so many women/families? Leaves a terrible taste in my mouth.

The argument that God is against abortion is false, which is the whole argument made by the "religious right".

That part about the poison water, that's in the Bible. God tells men to give their wives poison water if they cheat. If she miscarries, it was not his baby and it deserved to die because it wasn't a baby created by a married, religiously valid couple.

God is not against abortion. In fact, for cheating wives he insists on terminating that baby. According to the text.

Why evangelicals keep making that argument is beyond me.

New one by me, but I have never dug into it, either. While personally I'm pro-life, my vote is pro-choice. I don't think I should be able to tell anyone what they can/can't do anymore than I like someone telling me what I can/can't.

FWIW, I rarely consider the Old Testament in how I live my life... there's so much i the OT that I just find bizarro. I default to "Jesus says to love" and let that be that.
