I highly doubt there will be any rigging of the election. There might be claims by one side or the other, but it’s simply not possible to rig a U.S. national election in any meaningful way.

Actually many things can be done to rig turnout and the counting of votes as well as disqualifying ballots. It has been an ongoing thing in the U.S. for some time. A Congressional election in NC was overturned for egregious ballot harvesting. Anything is possible. Suppressing registration and voting hours and locations changes the outcomes.

At least we only have to worry about *one* party doing the above to any great extent.

It's not just possible, motions to rig it have already been put in place and are under way. The 2020 presidential election is being rigged right in front of you and you're in here saying it's not possible?

Please read a newspaper sometime or something.

I guess if Trump wins it means the election was rigged. If Trump loses, it will mean the election was rigged.

When it comes to the general election here is what I think may happen.

50/50 if not better

If conditions allow for it trump may try to go the Marshall law route and indefinitely postpone the election but that will get slapped down by John Roberts and maybe Gorsich seeing as how he now has his lifetime appointment

But that will leave the door open for Governors like Kemp in GA and Desantis in FL, Abbott in TX , Iowa and Arizona are supposed to be close and have Republican , Trump wannabees as Governors so you can add them to the list as well all of whom after all summer long of not giving two shits about how many infections and deaths in their states because "the economy was more important"about the end of the 3rd week of October all the sudden "seeing the light" and "getting religion" and re-imposing "stay at home orders" and an open thing that will not be allowed is in person voting, and surprise surprise surprise it will be announced like the day after the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot so no the election itself will not "canceled' per se but if wide swaths of people who vote in person because they do not and never have trusted absentee voting IE Black people can not vote at all most would call that "rigged'

Other than FL all those states also have US Senate seats up

5 seats that could go D if Biden were to win in those states

But stay R if Trumps "wins"

Then give up. I don't know what else to tell you.

I basically have.
About 25 years ago I started working with several lawyers. They had many spirited discussions about pretty much everything.

I realized that whether a person is “right” is largely irrelevant. The victory goes to the one who’s the better at arguing, right or wrong.

Seems like the rest of the world has caught up, especially now that we have Facebook and Twitter.

It's already rigged by Republican gerrymandering and Republican Jim Crow voter ID laws. Now they want to end mail-in voting and are organizing poll watchers on a massive scale to intimidate minorities at the polls. Let's not forget to mention Republican state defunding of elections which has closed a record number of polling places.

Same as 2016 it's the Dem's to lose. I expect Biden will win the popular vote. If he avoids the 78,000 vote differential which gave Trump three big states (Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin) in the electoral college, victory will be easy.

What's different this time is that Biden polls as more friendly/likable and less controversial than Hillary. Whatever swift boat tactic the GOP dreams up this time will be less likely to stick. Like 2016 the election will go down to the last week because so many voters wait that long to decide.

An impeached president who openly committed obstruction of justice and obstruction of Congress is standing for re-election. History awaits.

You're not a lawyer, but a human being. There's a big difference. (OK, maybe you *are* a lawyer, but you get my point).

Presumably, you have our own ideas about what's right or wrong, true or false. Hold on to that, until some pretty strong evidence/arguments persuade you otherwise.
