OK I know he made a farewell thread & gave his reasons. But now he has banned on his profile! Is that just for technical reasons or was he actually banned?

He asked to have his account deleted. I'm sure it's just a technical glitch. I will check on that.

I will miss Dumbcow. He pissed me off once, but I forget why. He was a sweet guy and I liked his cow persona.

Rob_E's most recent update must have affected how we'd previously set up account closings.

dumbcow and scaredlittleboy both asked to have their accounts deleted. We don't delete accounts but 'disable' them instead.

This involves banning the account so that it cannot be accessed and changing the usergroup (the badge under your avatar) back to 'Member' - or in the case of dumbcow, 'Moomber.'

This thread called my attention to this change so I fixed both accounts again. We don't want former members in good standing to be stuck with a badge of dishonor.

A hypothetical, Pecker.

Let's say that a member creates a new account and wants his old one deleted. You Ban him and then de-ban him. What's to stop him from going back to his old account, or creating 10 more accounts now, filling up the membership?

That is what pecker was refering to. He unbanned Scaredlittleboy.

Personally, in this case, I think it should be banned, just to remove temptation.

I think you missed what Pecker said:

The account is technically banned but it just does not show up to us, the rest of the membership, as banned.

Recent changes meant the 'banned' label showed up again - so Pecker went and changed the label, but the accounts still remain disabled (banned).
