The thing that I see is the potential of some other individual to come out of the dark at the very last minute.
The Christian Right Wing hates Romney not because of his ideals, but because he is a member of the Mormon Church. If he were not of the Mormon faith Romney would be a complete no-brainer for the GOP.
What is sad is that a number of individuals running are concentrating on one group and one group only and that is "Religious Extremist Conservatives" who feel that they alone are fit to run a country.
I am not fond of Obama and as I have said many times my main criticism is that I feel his actions tend to indicate a spineless wimp. At the same time, I am watching groups of individuals who have the potential through extremist viewpoints to set this country, one of the greatest in the world back hundreds of years.
Another sad thing is that the GOP tends to blame their opposition for being big spenders of money when it is the GOP that prior to the election of Barak Obama spent taxpayers dollars like they were water.
In the meantime there has been a consistent move to bankrupt the country as part of a long range plan to rid the country of any program to help the people who populate it.
Because of the economy fewer and fewer are able to obtain higher education than in years past, because of desperation jails are filled with people who turned to crime rather than death by starvation. Nationwide the corrections system is becoming an ever increasing expense with little actual effect as an agency for deterrance or rehabilitation. Because of computer data banks a kid who gets nailed for shoplifting when he was 15 may be unable to get a job when he is 30 because these old records simply are never erased.
There are good things happening. Most of the American Automobile Industry appears to be planning on bringing all the jobs back to the United States.
Ford Motor Company found production on some models grinding to a halt in the United States when the Tsunami hit industrial facilities that made engine management systems and even paint for U.S. produced cars. GM and Chrysler had also sub-contracted all of these operations to foreign manufacture because of cost. What they learned with the Tsunami was that they could lose the whole shooting match.
There is a long term plan by Chrysler to end production of trucks destined for sale in the United States produced in Mexico because of long term quality control problems. This was one of the larger reasons that Daimler-Benz parted company with Chrysler. They had representatives from Germany living in Mexico and the minute the German inspectors would leave, the quality on the vehicles would slide down hill. Trucks destined for the Mexican and South American markets will continue to be built there, but the plan is to return United States production to this country. General Motors and Ford have made this same intention public.
The one thing we cannot do is to make the error of electing candidates that are more interested in what is going on in your bedroom than they are with what is going on with the economy of this country. We also need representatives and this applies not only to the President, but to Congressmen and Senators who have allowed major industries to rape the American people and then be "bailed out".
If we want change, we have to hold people who place the welfare of major corporations well above the welfare of the American people.
We as American people must elect representatives that outlaw "Golden Parachutes" for Corporate executives. Right now with regards to personal success it is far more profitable to go in as a corporate CEO and to run a corporation into the ground. In fact, the wisest move for these guys is to get that Corporation into red ink as quickly as possible. This means their tenure is short before they get the multi-million dollar bonuses and move on to wreck another corporation.
Recently we have watched a very major thing.
What I find interesting is that very likely Herman Cain was blown out of the water by his own party, the GOP. Nobody declared him unqualified for the office he was seeking, they gave themselves away by going for sex and scandal. Did he do what he was accused of? The truth is that none of us will ever know. As soon as he is gone I would bet that all of the people willing to testify against him will just "go away".
Over time, dirt will be unearthed on other candidates as well if they do not "get out" in time. They will only bother to harpoon people who would pose a legitimate threat to the candidates the "big boys" within the party want as the final contenders.
The one thing we have that we absolutely need to watch this time is to take a great lesson from four candidates from the past.
The GOP did something really brilliant as far as political and election strategy with the candidacy of George W. Bush. They installed a very weak President easily controlled and manipulated by others based on emotional instability and ego. They installed one of the strongest and most brilliant businessmen in Dick Cheney in the number 2 position. By doing this, they could use the poor public speaking and antics of George W. to create a complete and total diversion from what Dick Cheney was doing.
They attempted a similar move with the election of John McCain. In McCain, they had a candidate that was in many ways electable and a moderate. In Sarah Palin they had their wild card, a person who loved the camera, and a person easily manipulated based on her own ego. If that had worked, we might have been far worse off than we have been with Barak Obama. Based on the age and health of John McCain there would have been a high possibility that we could have seen "President Palin". They then could have brought in a dark horse and you would have had another eight years of Bush like policies.
In the current candidates, watch for the appearance of individuals who can make the "extremist" the center of attention while in truth the manipulation of everything takes place in your government behind closed doors.
The sad part with many in the GOP is that they themselves do not see that their own party is no longer representing the conservative voter. The GOP continues these days to field candidates that appeal to the most extreme of viewpoints. There was a time decades ago that I was proud to be a supporter of the GOP. Those days left with the infiltration of absolute extremists and more interest into the events of peoples bedrooms and morality than in the economy and the wellness of the country.
The most electable candidate with the greatest ability to pull the conservative Democrats is Mitt Romney, and he is the most electable for that reason. If they leave in the extremists and remove the clear heads it makes for more problems. If Obama were to win, personally I don't want to see any kind of landslide. He needs to stand up for the people and he needs to start house cleaning. If the Dems do not begin the task of housecleaning of their own ranks they are as guilty as the GOP for not purging their ranks of the same kind of counterproductive people.
Remember that all candidates of all parties can be manipulated and as pressure for money increases this is very likely to happen.
