It's rather unfortunate that we equate nudity to sexuality. Nudity and sexuality are two very separate things! I don't see why men can't be naked together. It's JUST a body! I've talked to people in the gym locker room while changing and am completely naked while doing so. We're talking about something very benign - sports, politics, whatever. I'm putting on clothes and so is he. Why is this such taboo?

What IS it?

My apologies for not clarifying. Jeju is a Korean spa in just outside of Atlanta. It is a full service spa for men and women with a variety of services for relaxation. It's a great place to spend a day. Jeju is in part known locally because it contains wet spa areas separated by gender where nudity is the expectation. The male only, wet spa area has three pools for cold, warm and hot water. There is a steam room and dry sauna as well. Men can also receive body scrubs and massages in the area as well. I visit about every 2 months on average. I confess I've gone to relax and also to check out guys and it's a pretty mixed crowd of gay and straight.

The staff watches it pretty closely to both keep it clean but also to watch for any sort of sexual behavior. I've been told guys have been thrown out for getting caught while masturbating or playing around. I confess I've never done that while visiting but have flirted several times. I went out of curiosity the first time and found it to be relaxing, enjoyable but not cruisy and that's what I was hoped. I did meet one guy there once who I wound up having dinner with and fooling around with later but otherwise it's just been a place to chill out.

It’s a traditional Korean bath or jjimjilbang. There is a lot of non sexual nudity here.

I don't think it's too complicated. Most guys like being naked. Most guys like skin contact. Provide pizza & beer and pay them enough to make it worth their while..... i doubt you'd have much problem.

Well said. The older I get, the easier I find it is to ignore many of those norms regarding clothing, bonding, etc. I wish I could say I ignore them because I've become more 'enlightened' or 'balanced' ... but it's really because I no longer have the energy to keep track of them, never mind follow them. YMMV, but I've also found that following them rarely yields the purported benefits.

I like your blogs: Interesting and provide food for thought while still being light reading.

I've been involved in a number of body acceptance discussions recently. One point that's come up is that it really isn't necessary to resolve or even address them in order to engage in naked social bonding or naked anything else. I've found that the larger the social group of the moment is, the easier it is to enjoy being naked, enjoy the socialising, and ignore the acceptance issues.

Somehow the next weekend I was at a nudist social with the guy and the rest is history. I've modelled in the buff for a brochure for nude exercise classes and have even had pics taken while fooling around with another guy. Lord knows what I'll be doing 10 years from now, lol.
