It's been 40+ years ago but I had friend who was an artist and he asked me to pose nude for a small group of artists. I did this once a week for about a year. Once I got the hang of just holding the pose, things worked out okay. We would go out for drinks afterward. On a couple of occasions we got really drunk and I went to bed with a couple who were bi. Mostly I enjoyed socialising and some of the sketches were very good.

I showed up in answer to a bulletin board post on campus, seeking nude models in the university art department. I was in really good physical shape, so I thought I'd go for the interview with the art professor. He commented positively about pretty much everything (muscle tone, hands/feet,etc), except that he thought I was a little too large "down there". He explained that the male models would often get erections, and he wasn't sure how the art students may react. I subsequently learned from an art major buddy that the prof always selected male models with small to average endowments. My buddy laughed his ass off when I told him I showed up to interview for one of the model slots.

. . . the prof always selected male models with small to average endowments.
I remember overhearing in college two or three girls at the next table in the cafeteria. My ears pricked up when I realized they were talking about a nude model in one of the girl's art class. She described him as having a great bod, but then indicated - somewhat snarkily to my pricked up ears - that he was below par in a certain muscle. Tsk tsk. Apparently her professor worked on the same criteria for male models as yours.

I've come to learn it's pretty standard practice. My art major buddy said as much. Ditto with female models' breasts.

Think of all the disappointed budding artists. How many women - and men - drop out of art for something like that.

Actually, it's probably a good idea to keep cocks on the minimal side in art. I remember seeing a bunch of Lucian Freud's paintings. Many of them included male nudes, most of whom were rather generously endowed and prominently displayed. Frankly, it was rather disconcerting. I think they were the only things people looked at in the paintings.

Both me and my hubby have posed as nude models, not at the same time though, and it was nothing sexy about it at all. For me it was a pretty unsexy enviroment and the focus was on holding my pose long enough.

And Ive taken art classes and done nude sketching and thats not very sexy either, your focus is on the model and your sketching, not on the nudity in a sexy way.

Nudity is our most natural state and is so much more than just sexiness. We dont need to sexualize everything.

I'm remembering my college days in a sculpting class that had nude models. We seemed to have women more often but there was one guy, he was black, who had a huge, fat cock. I'll never forget the first time he unrobed, I took my slab of clay, slapped it down hard on the table, and started to roll it out with both hands. That got the rest of the artists near me laughing. I fantasized about him for many years...

I don't know, that almost sounds apocryphal. I haven't modeled regularly for about 8 years, but I was under the impression that good male models were more difficult to find than females. Disqualifying a guy because his cock is "too large" just sounds incredibly short-sighted.

I got more work than I could handle, even with the occasional morning wood (7AM classes should be banned!!) so being a good model who shows up on time puts you head and shoulders above the rest. Apparently they get lots of flakes, especially females who get cold feet at the last minute and leave the artists with no model and no quick way to substitute.

I have considered applying for a model for art classes, as a way to earn some extra money. Now is my question if anyone here already has experience posing as a nude model?

I am afraid if I do it for girls of my own age I might get an erection while posing. I will apply for a different university than my own to avoid being recognized by fellow students, but still its quite a fear I have.

So if anyone here has some basic tips, I would appreciate that a lot.

So did you end up modeling?

. I subsequently learned from an art major buddy that the prof always selected male models with small to average endowments

I was signed on as a model by woman art instructor who looked me over and said she liked what she saw. Once I was on the roster at the university, they had to hire me when I wanted to work and I got more work than I could take. It is true that being on time and a good poser goes a long way toward keeping you employed.

Here is my cock-bias story -- I was posing for a sculpture class. Reproducing the model's body exactly was part of the exercise. I posed class after class in the same pose. Holding it exactly, throughout the class, and returning to it exactly after breaks was quite a challenge. The class had even more attractive girls than usual and I enjoyed them studying my body so closely, however, One day when the sculptures of me were coming along, the older male instructor came up and stood behind a good looking dance major who was sculpting right in front of me. He said, "you are making this very true to the model... (Pause) I should tell you that in classical sculpture the size of the 'pudendum' (means genitals in Latin) was usually made considerably smaller than his (my) large size." She said, "That's ok I like his the way it is." The instructor, stood by a second looking over to me to see if I had heard. They were quite close and she had spoken loudly. I kept looking in another direction until he turned away. Then I looked at her and we locked eyes and smiled at each other. She was one more "date" that I got from modeling.

I have scanned some polaroids of me in that class (used when I was sick for a few sessions) and they are in my gallery. I have written up some memories of my time modeling in school and for private classes. If you want to read them let me know.

Very much so. My time modeling was at a different and perhaps more vital time than the present. Artists and their students were more open and experimental; there was less access to everything pornographic. Perhaps I was more willing to open conversations and thus hook-ups. In any case, though the poses might have been tough and boring, my time modeling rarely was. Message me if you want to read some memories of that time.
you know I have been thinking a bit about this.....your a bit older than me....but I'm creeping up in years now

and quite frankly....i think times have changed....in the old day...hahaha....you had to make all your social connections in real life....so in the odd time that you made a social connection you had to jump on it right then....

the sexual or pseudo sexual setting would only serve to grease the wheels

enter today ...in internet age....with cl tinder pof....as well as other dating sites .....you no longer have to screw up your courage to put it out there with someone you don't know is available

easier to type out a profile and wait than risk rejection....or even an awkward moment

also pic phones and current practices....I usually get nude photos within a few days of talking with someone.....heres my room....look at the sweater I just bought...heres my cat....heres my vag

with woman being bombarded with dick shots daily.....its no small wonder the site of a naked dude is just ...meh

I have been modeling nude for 10 years and rarely get erect. it is a non sexual situation in most sessions although some poses can be more explicit and exposed. If you feel your cock getting aroused, ask for a break if you are worried. The few times my cock got erect it was not and issue and it went away and they continued to draw. I think they feel more confident if the model is comfortable with his body and nudity

The prof was worried that your big cock would cause a stir...such a problem to have LOL.

I did some nude figure modeling in college and just afterward. Pretty easy way to make money...but it more strenuous than you'd think. Standing still for long periods of time is tough! I never really had an erection issue. The room was so cold I was more embarrassed when it shrunk up inside me. LOL. But the instructors were good and would give me a break or pose change every so often. If he did see me getting hard or something...they'd notice and have me change positions. Most of the models were of average quality. We had large women (easier to draw). Another model but of mine was Ed...this 70-something year old man. Skinny as a twig. Sometimes you'd get younger guys that were endowed but often times they just were there to kinda show off and the teachers dont like that. But I enjoyed it while I did it.
