Alright, I am a model and have done some nude modeling for what I feel are aesthetic purposes, with a true artistic outcome. However, many people find it trashy or taboo, and very similar to careers, like stripping or pornography.

I happen to think, it all depends on both the model's and the photographers point of view and their intentions for the photos. So, it could go either way.

What are your opinions?

from the pictures you share on your profile, you have an 'ideal' asthetic body which deserves to be exhibited uncovered- to the level of your comfort. If you are willing to go for the full monty in the name of art- and don't have any shame attached to showing your dynamic body- go for it.

I guess when I think about doing that myself, I wouldn't have the support and acceptance from my immediate family. If you have that in place then strangers are going to react positively when they see a truely artistic outcome.

Love to see more of you man

I do photographs and the photography sessions are video taped for documentaries. I will tell you that posing, keeping poses and being creative is a lot of mental and physical work. I get bruised, skinned knees and very sore muscles at the end of the session. When i see the work i'm blown away and very happy i pushed myself to be creative.

Alright, I am a model and have done some nude modeling for what I feel are aesthetic purposes, with a true artistic outcome.

These very words could have been spoken by Vanessa Williams(yay! Ugly Betty is back on this week!) back in her Miss America days. Then the pictures come out and there she is, mackin' out on some other woman. Her tongue is up another girls vagina.

Always ask yourself 'WWMMS" (What would my mother say)

Personally, I was going to do some nude modeling at the local learning annex but they would let me set out my tip jar

Tasteful or trashy depends on the intent. (I've done both.)

The tasteful nudes tend to be where a lot of time is spent on getting the pose and lighting just right, and where the focus isn't on the genitals. It's usually about showing the beauty of the play of light on the lines and curves of the body as opposed to "Here's a throbbing hardon leaping out of the picture" or "How far up the hole can you see?"

I can't speak about nude modelling for women, but for guys there seems to only be demand for two types, ripped or lardy. It's all about the light. There aren't many shadows on a body which is anything in between, so there isn't as much artistic interest. As for guys getting erections during life drawing sessions, that's definitely frowned upon and often means never working as a life model again, unless the artist/artists wanted to draw an erection.

Yoga and pilates help with the flexibility for some positions. If you're planning to be an artist's model, all I can say is practise, practise, practise. Get some experience of holding dynamic poses, find out what your body is comfortable doing and time how long you can hold a pose. Get some props (ideally portable) and think of poses you can do with them as not every artist will have props you can use in their studio.

Another thing is don't expect loads of money as it doesn't tend to pay too well. (Unless you're doing the trashy stuff. 10 years ago, it paid about 5x what tasteful did.)

IMO, there is no artistic subject that encompasses the broad range of beauty as completely as the human body. I'm fairly enamored of my own, and I love looking at others.

Given the popularity of sites like Suicide Girls, Met-Art and FemJoy, I don't think I'm alone in this line of thinking.

I find the human body to be beautiful, however there are always going to be those who find anything to do with nudity trashy or offensive. Also, each of us has a different opinion on what constitutes trashy. My opinion is that if you are comfortable with what you are doing, then by all means do it.

I've done both. Got my start as a barback and then a waiter in a lady's only club. That in turn lead to stripping and a career that lasted nearly 10 years. Never really thought of it as taboo, but did my best to keep it a secret from my family. Trashy? Yes. Especially in some of the gay clubs. Being unhibited and extroverted helped, however, in the back of my mind, I often felt cheap and used. Knowing that such a career couldn't last forever, I had the sense to get out in my early 30's.

As for modeling, competitions and posedowns that's been quite a bit different as they haven't been in the nude.
