I had a bit of an embarrassment ( or opportunity) today. I went to my urologist's office for an annual check-up and to have him check my epididymal cysts, which have been aching for a couple weeks. Because wearing briefs or a jock lessens the pain, I decided to go commando, so I could point out exactly where the pain was. The office visit went as planned. I dropped my pants and he palpated my testicle, then gave me a DRE. What was unexpected was that he wanted me to get an x-ray for kidney stones. So I went to radiology to get my x-ray. I was summoned into the room by a male technician ( I don't recall many male technicians) and was asked if I had any metal in the clasps of my pants. We decided that I did, so he said," Just pull your pants down and I'll cover you with a sheet," probably thinking that I had underwear on. Had I know that I was going to have an x-ray, I would have worn something. I told him that I wasn't wearing underwear. In the past, I would be offered a flimsy air of disposable shorts, but not this time. He just said, " I'll just cover you with the sheet and It will be okay, unless you are uncomfortable." I said I wasn't, so I lay on the x-ray table with my pants down to my knees. He came over, looked down at me and carefully placed a sheet over me. I'm very glad that the technician was a man, instead of the usual young woman. I suppose, in that case, I would have asked for the flimsy shorts. But, I can't recall ever being naked like that in the x-ray room. It was memorable.
