I had to go to the doctor for a medical follow up. My current doctor was unavailable so they schedule me with another doctor there. They also scheduled me for a complete physical as it had been years since I had one. The nurse told me to take everything off and put on the gown. Totally nude military physicals for induction to draftees is a well known fact....I can't say I remember it being six hours long, but long enough!

I was a Combat Medic, and in 68' prior to deployment I spent 9 months at a large Army Training Base. We had various assignments on the base, but on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday most everyone got assigned to reception physical exams for the newly arrived recruits. Every day, one of the doctors, one major in particular would order recruit to see a specialist at the base hospital, so that meant medics had to get them dressed, march them the mile or so to the hospital, then march them back to the reception building, get them stripped and back in line. 6 or 7 hours was not that unusual, and after the time the recruits were released to their reception drill Sgts., we still had labs and paperwork to do so it ended up 10 to 12 hours.

Several of my tech school classmates got assigned to Draft Board Examining Centers and from what they said, their days didn't go much easier

Yes, particularly at the Draft Board Examining Centers (MEPS) it wasn't unusual for some examinees to raise their cannons, and at some centers they probably regretted it.

You're right, but in our American culture that can be very difficult. Because I've had basil cell carcinomas, I have a skin examination annually. Unfortunately, it is less thorough than it should be. Also, when I have a physical examination, the probe for prostate cancer is omitted unless I specifically request it.
