I don't think sex has become passe. A very small portion of the population is choosing not to engage in sexual activity. Some voluntary and some involuntary.
What is concerning to me....are the increasing number of young men who consider themselves to be incels. Then turning to dubious sources on the internet for advice on how to be more manly and pick up women. And it ends up being a disaster for these unfortunate young men who should have been seeking professional help.

The opposite seems to be happening. The results look to be an absolute disaster for humanity as you suggest. But it has made a lot of tech bros very very rich.
