you can not dance at most new york city bars so new york city suck!!!

I happen to enjoy dancing and have done it all my life. I was in one bar downtown. There was loud music playing and some new songs. I was moved to dance.

I had only begun moving in a confined space of about a meter on all sides when a man grabbed about my right arm.

He shook me and said, "Are you going to stop dancing or am I going to escort you out of here"

Seeing no other alternative, I stopped.

The bartender who greeted me every week for a year said, "that's the owner" and gave some sob story about a cabaret liscence. This was a complete explanation with inspections from secret police and the looming threat of the establishment being closed down.

I looked at him with disgust. For weeks, he and I had danced at the same time every week without this EVER coming up. In fact, the week before, I was dancing with four girls and bending them over tables in a jolly good time.

This establishment is not alone. Either the venues are too small and covered with drink tables preventing motility or the staff itself prohibits it. The music is redundant and is hardly inspiring. Few of the Djs even know what they are doing.

The drinks are awful. The people are snobbish and duplicitous to the core. (so is most of the world at this point)

Either way, that particular city is not geared toward dancing or normal socialization.

I think you are exaggerating. First of all, if the venue has an area with less than six feet of space from the bar, it does not need a cabaret license for dancing. You are allowed to dance at places with less than six feet in width from the bar. The owner of the place you went to probably had his own issues. Secondly, you are making generalizations about what a venue is intending. If they have tables and not space for you to dance, the might not want it as part of their atmosphere. There is also music of every genre available in NY nightlife, you probably just did not find what you like

Your attitude sounds as if you think NY revolves around you, it doesn't. It isn't snobbish that a business doesn't want you throwing girls over tables, while you dance like a jackass. The culture of nightlife is different in every city and the fact that you do not like it here tells me they are doing it right

Not once did I say it revolved around me. I paid money for entrance and always buy a drink. I am a bloody patron. As I clearly said, I had been dancing there for WEEKS without any problems. The bartender even joined in with dancing and cavorting with the girls.

For anyone to lay hands upon another instead of explaining the situation in a calm manner is inexcusable. So is your attitude. Your city is sub-par in customer relations. This is my opinion. You have a right to disagree but don't you dare think you can condescend to me, woman. I have a right to speak my mind on this forum as does everyone else. Someone else raised the same point. I responded with my own experience.

The end. Now fill your mouth with silence and shame at spilling such vile comments against someone who was physically harassed. If you were in the same position, I wonder if you would shrug it off as just another day in the city.

By the way, dearie, the dancing with the girls who were close mates of mine happened prior to the incident with the man grabbing my arm.

Thank you for once again proving literacy and reading comprehension is still a serious problem in your area. (not that it has improved here much either thanks to your sphere of imperialism and the general degradation of culture due to the redefinition of social standards).

If I want to dance with a girl, I will do it how I please. I have seen further actions in a nightclub. Dancing close to a few girls as I did is quite benign compared to the rather lascivious behaviours of the natives.

Well I certainly can't imagine why you weren't treated with the utmost of respect.

This is NYC, paying $10 at the door doesn't get you a buffoonery license. Behave yourself in public.

Well...what we in NYC usually say to someone who has expressed himself in the manner that you have is: Go fuck yourself!

Some people just don't get NY...but if you were born here, or if you stay long enough to "get it", then it's truly hard to live anywhere else.

Enjoy wherever you have ended up...but there are millions of people who think there is no other place to live.

It does not matter if you were dancing for weeks, if the owner doesn't want you to dance, it is his choice to not let you dance. The bartender does not own the venue so he does not have a say

Let me fill you in a little tip about my fine city- if you are actually paying entrance somewhere and not being comped, you are just another customer, not their guest. They can ask you to leave at anytime. They can deny you entrance also as they wish. They could decide it is simply a "private event" which is the polite way of saying you are not welcome

I don't care if ten people make the same point, I know your type. You are a very stereotypical demographic that thinks because they paid a cover and bought a drink that is is a free for all, guess what it isn't. If you don't fucking like it go back where you came from, we don't like your kind anyway- douchebag

PS- my reading comprehension is just fine, your posts clearly prove why you would be manhandled, your asinine behavior combined with your sense of entitlement is deplorable

if NY is so damn bad why do people from all over the country and world re-locate here? and why is it all our hotels and restaurants and bars are jam packed?

obviously you are in the minortiy. if you don't like it don't come back. we won't miss you.

i won't be immature and bash where you are from. that is not my style. if i go somewhere and do not like it i simply do not return

but maybe the girls getting grinded by natives were willing participants.

maybe you were scaring off female patrons with your party boy dance moves?
