I agree, Baron- some people DO just want to work out. Those guys can do this- on the gym floor. Beyond that, *within the boundaries of what is deemed APPROPRIATE to the guys in the room* some healthy naked bonding is just what the doctor ordered.
Any guy who goes to a health club should understand going in to a membership, or should learn shortly thereafter, that putting a group of body-conscious men together where nudity is expected is going to end anything but strictly 100% hetero. If any guy can't deal with that, he should either work out and then shower at home, OR find a different gym to work out in all together.
I'm not suggesting turning the locker room into a bath house- no no no. But when you think about it, a locker room is one of the VERY FEW socially acceptable forms of social bonding among men that remain in our repressed society. All things in moderation- a little swinging dick is healthy for gender identification. Any club that prudishly tries to mandate members to remain fully dressed and covered should be ashamed of their lack of controlling their own membership.
YEP- I'll be the first to admit that some will inappropriately cruise and/or behave in a manner not appropriate (or legal) outside of a private home- BUT I firmly believe that the sacred institution of naked male gymnastics (going back to ancient Greece!) is written into our male DNA, and is appropriately nurtured in small doses as part of self love and social self-governance. Try to outlaw it, sully it or make it something more than it is and you have repressed overcompensation, like speakeasies during prohibition.
All things in moderation. Enjoy male time. Don't tread on other's freedoms, and be respectful of appropriate interactions with others- attentive to when attention is invited, and responsive when your advances are very unwelcome. If all the guys in the steam room or sauna are going full skin- then lose the textiles! Take part in the bonding. Be part of the male species.
Its very rare when guys have opportunity to really connect with another or a few guys who they can REALLY trust to bare all with in this way- not long someone will trot in who is either bothered by the display, or scared that a semi or shower stiffy means a prison movie rape scene. After a short time, those who feel the want (or need) to connect with others will (literally) loosen their towels a bit.
