I’ve been a few times and the guys there make me really uncomfortable. On top of that there were guys barebacking.

217 Broadway is actually really bad too. Like their gym sucks but they have one of the BEST saunas. Hot guys go to that gym but never use the sauna. The only guys that use the sauna are the creepy, out of shape ones that never work out, and make you extremely uncomfortable. I’d say don’t even waste your time. Unless you’re just looking to get off.

On the New Jersey side of the Hudson there are certainly some hot dicks on parade at the local NYSC's. One in particular stands out. A 23 year old guy who loves to show his dick off to older guys. His body is amazing.
I'm curious what will happen to the gym after this pandemic. Their constant desperate emails makes it sound like they were not in the best financial position. I heard they laid off ALL their staff and trainers and basically they get "first dibs" when the clubs reopen. It's just a mess.

Yeah, they screwed a whole bunch of their customers over...but now they're offering the highest membership access to people that don't cancel.
The company isn't great at customer service - I wonder if they'll actually honor the promise, I also kinda wonder if they'll still be open after this is over.
If NYSC goes under, does anyone have any gym recommendations between Grand Central and 23 rd street?
We know which gyms survive the pandemic so we all just have to wait and see.

I joined this site to look at nude pics of Froylan Gutierrez and stumbled upon this thread. Made me chuckle.
I had my first real gay interaction in the steam room of the now closed location opposite Macy's on 34th street
That was over 15 years ago. Since then i have worked out at virtually every location in Manhattan and North Jersey as well as multiple locations of Equinox and YMCA. The lure of a quick fix after workout simply could not be resisted. Especially since i was still in the closet and this was way too easy for my younger and more attractive self. On hindsight, this was a huge mistake. I never cared for or developed any real gay relationships - both inside and outside the clubs. NYSC was so much fun back then. Wall street ( now closed ) and 23rd and 8th ( now very subdued) were the places to go. Equinox at Columbus circle ( the one that got sued ) was also happening. The story with all of them is pretty much the same. If you are a young hot guy with even the slightest of musculature and willingness to put out, you should have no problem getting action. Last few years i was just a spectator mostly. Sometimes served as a lookout and always made sure that i was not the offending 'old troll'. Agree with above posters that 36 & Madison has the most action these days. If you are in north jersey, Hoboken has the best looking dudes. If you are into aesthetics the flagship at Astor place (huge multi-level layout, DJ,free massage chairs,etc..) and the penthouse at Printing House location are the best. Swimmers would possibly like the old Bally location in HK which is now a NYSC premium location - mood lighting in the showers and what not. and no, i was never good enough for David Barton.. keep the stories coming..

I’m definitely not saying it’ll survive, but NYHRC on 13th and University is VERY hot and the sauna/steam room is well kept. The crowd tends to skew a little older, but the bulk of the men cruising are in their 30s and 40s with the occasional NYU or New School student.
Hot as in situations or hot as in the men? Because when you say older I just visualize the older trolls at NYSC.
Hot as in the men and the cruising. You’re not gonna escape the older trolls at any NYC gym unfortunately, but NYHRC being a smaller chain I think there’s a higher standard of cruise etiquette and community. I also think that the staff are a lot more hands off with patrolling the showers, steam, and sauna - probably because they know cruising gay guys account for a significant portion of their clientele. I’ve even seen a trainer jerking off in the sauna.
Also, I’m a former NYSC member and will mention that if you’re willing to make the trip to downtown Brooklyn, the Remsen St location has a great vibe, a good mix of men, and a very discreet steam and sauna that you can’t see into from the outside.
