    1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.

    2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people

    3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.

    4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.

    5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.

    6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

    7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

    8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control."

    9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.

10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

I admit, I am no where near as informed as I probably should be politically, but since when are we in danger of the government confiscating our food or other essential supplies? Sounds like a bunch of right-wing, psycho, hocum to me. :angryfire2:

A lot of it is stuff we're not currently in danger of, but the warrantless searches part is something that has happened. The Patriot Act and the Bush Administration put that forth, and with warrantless wire-tapping it did happen. The unlawful enemy combatants part was a Bush-era thing that was scary, basically changing terms to bypass the Geneva conventions or even deprive Americans of their rights. Jose Padilla was one of the most well known cases of this, and people fought tirelessly to free him of the bullshit the government was pulling.

Their hearts are in the right place, but it seems like they think things are going to get a lot worse soon even though it's doubtful it will. I've never heard of them before, I'm going to read some more about it when I have the time.

Seriously? Then you haven't read the Patriot Act. You might want to pay a little more attention to what's going on around you and quit listening to the mainstream media and go straight to the actual source for accuracy.

    Just wait.

Oh just shut up, and fuck me already.

FWIW: I read most of the Patriot Act when it first came out. But that was a long time ago and it's not the type of thing I keep in my long term memory.

Actually I've read the majority of it more than once, thanks. For the record I don't follow the mainstream media almost at all, barring the occasional news story.

Saw this the other week on vbs.tv

Docu here on it: AMERICANA | 2nd Revolutionary War | VBS.TV

The Department of Homeland Security classifies them as potential “domestic terrorists”; they prefer to be called patriots. As the economic crisis deepens, a growing movement of Americans is rejecting the two-party system and the mainstream media. They believe a violent revolution is imminent, and they’re getting ready for it now. VBS correspondent Ryan Duffy crosses the country to meet the people on the front lines of the struggle. They include Alex Jones, a radio talk show host in Austin, Texas who is waking people up to the dangers of the corporate globalists — and has seen traffic on his websites increase dramatically in recent months. We also meet Sgt. Charles Dyer, a U.S. Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton who has taken an oath to disobey unconstitutional orders and take up arms against the government if it becomes tyrannical — and is training a citizen militia to do the same. Travelling from tea parties in Texas to “Oath Keeper” rallies in Massachusetts, VBS investigates whether the country is actually on the verge of the 2nd Revolutionary War.

NJ: According to the Patriot Act, they can detain you for anything for 48 hours without cause. But on the same token, you can do that to them via Citizen's arrest. Of course you would have to have a police officer right there. Just the fact that they can detain you for 48 hours without cause bothers me. That's just long enough to give an illusion to others that you're not coming back, instill fear in them (and you) to make them more docile. It took me a good 2 weeks to get through the Patriot Act because it jumps around into everything so much, it's hard to keep up with which direction it's going and where.

Oh yeah, BRING IT ON BABY!! ANYTIME ANYWHERE!! Ya knows this cowboy loves ya!! :naughty:

JustAsking: I wouldn't worry about that. I live in Texas and have never heard anything about it. Now there IS talk among almost all Texans about seriously seceding from the union. I've even heard that Texans want to take Oklahoma with them for some obscure reason. Don't see it happening, though.

Could you leave Austin with us, though? Thanks.

    Why take Oklahoma??

I have no issue with the Oath Keepers and, in fact, find it encouraging. I'm pleased to see that others believe the Constitution is the final rule of law and want to keep it that way. The Neocon/Dominionists scare the crap out of me.

People are pissed off, some for good reasons, others for bad ones. Being angry about the bailout? Justified. Angry about Wall Street, Corporate Lobbyists, Red vs. Blue crap? All well and good.

Then there's the Birthers, the "Death Panel" people and the ones that seem to want to wage war over what Fox News and CNN tell them.

It does feel as if an armed conflict could break out in America at times, that's for sure.

That doesn't sound that psycho or right wing at all. Conservative perhaps, in the true sense of the word, but it's certainly a response to the patriot act initially, and seems rather non-partisan in its suspicion of excessive governmental oversight.

The whole thing just screams paranoia. It really does. The Patriot Act, although a piece of legislation that we can all agree is just wrong, seems like a convenient excuse to fuel the flames.

We are all patriots and loyalists until the governing elite decide to the contrary. And believe me they will sacrifice your children before they will give up their stinking rich friends. Citizens of the United States are fortunate people (some of them actually had ancestors who struggled for a constitution) but to proclaim their superiority to more moral and peaceful people is exactly what the Nazis did in living memory. War criminals are war criminals if they murder, rape, ravish, plunder women, children, the elderly, noncombatants and any peaceful man or woman who steps in their way. We are all subject to law, but make sure they are our laws and they are just laws.

They can keep it. For as long as they keep electing wackjobs like Coburn and Inhofe to the Senate we're better off leaving them with their oil and their votes.

Most of it is paranoia, but a few are things that should be common sense overall. There's been plenty of peaceful protests broken up by tasers and things of the like.

The concentration camp/blockade/food stuff is all a bit much though.

I agree with you about the paranoia. It's seems the last thing the elite in America, you know, "the powers that be", would do is confiscate property or blockade food. I mean, they already have control and they need nice contented consumers for everything to run smoothly. I should think they would not want to provoke a citizenry that is armed to the teeth, into rebellion by taking away their material goods.
