Its obvious that Obama hates fish and water. That must be why they have been so slow to respond the the oil spill.

And really......there isn't a freaking safety device on that thing that snaps shut when the oil starts free flowing??????

Good gawd...disaster.

Glad to see Obama gets the gov't moving SOOOOO much faster than Bush did in LA.

Oh wait....maybe its just gov't that is slow and not that Bush hated black people..... errr but that doesn't fit people's agendas around here.

Really. BUILD A SAFETY VALVE PEOPLE!!!

Ummmmm... Obama is already making moves down to the Gulf to deal with this. It's one of the top stories here in New Orleans and nobody here is complaining. Sorry, but to pretend that he's not working fast enough on this issue is bullshit. Stop reading pundit blogs and get the real scoop.

There was a safety valve but apparently it's malfunctioning.

Now we should all engage in charity and chip in to help clean up the massive destruction. Or are you suggesting that government should actually review plans for construction of these things and not just take the oil industry on it's word that it's safe?

Kanye West was the "Bush hates black people" soundbite.

If your agenda is to engage in baiting, I'd say you were successful.

Wait a minute, according to your own statements posted all over this forum, strictly BP and the rig's owner should be cleaning up their own mess, NOT relying on 'charity' from the government. Afterall, government 'charity' only results in higher taxes, bigger government bureaucracy and the total destruction of the 'free market'...

Sounds to me like ConnTroll just became a 'Libtard' right before our very eyes! Ahh, life must be so easy when it's lived purely on impulse. lolololololol

ps... WHEN are you actually leaving the politics forum like you promised ConnTroll?

Wait, aren't we supposed to let The Market Forces resolve this crisis?

^No way! Conservatrolls can say whatever they want, whenever they want, and should be agreed with and worshiped at all times, no questions asked.

On an aside... I finally found a picture of Conntroll online!

^Actually, the relevant question is; How many blown deepwater oil wells does it take to trash the environment and destroy related industries?

The answer is smacking all of us who live along the eastern Gulf in the face; Just one...

Yes market forces will drive BP out of business and viola problem solved with no big bad government getting in the way. We need MORE regulatory relief so we can see who the bad guys are let them perish.

Conntom didn't you say that you were leaving the politics forum? Wasn't that about two weeks ago? And yet you are still here.

The government should act the same way it does when emergency services are called for individuals: fix the mess and present the client with a bill for services rendered. If they don't pay up, start freezing accounts and seizing assets.

^I prefer they don't bother wasting taxpayers' time and money with the games and instead start out by proposing to revoke their corporate charter AND bill them for every cent we can imagine, and work their way back from there until satisfactory results are achieved.

Our government needs to stop giving the benefit of the doubt and playing softball with corporate interests that come to the game fully intent being as nasty and ruthless as the government will allow them to get away with.

Conntom-- There are remote controlled safety valves-- cost about $500,000 per well. The technology wasn't in place. Why?

Did it have something do with the Energy Policy crafted by VP Cheney and oil execs behind closed doors? Did it have something to do with Haliburton's construction contract on the well that blew up, burned down, collapsed, and commenced to gush?

How's that "Drill, baby, Drill" thingy working out fer ya, huh?

Of course we will never know thanks to the 'business first citizens last' Supreme Court. It will always be secret.

Again... you guys love to fry people who are not lock step with you on your politics.

Personally, since I am above such nonsense can say...

And in light of many of my centrist and right leaning opinions can say....

Whomever did not put that safety valve on or screwed this up should be dealt with in sever fashion as not to let it happen again.

Better yet, would have been that we were severe on other prior screw ups so this event had not happened.

Keep trying to pigeon hole me because I do not agree with on on everything.

You only confirm my dislike of the left. You people are nazi like.
