Number one way to reduce healthcare costs is for folks to engage in much healthier lifestyles and go to the doctor BEFORE you get sick to practice preventative medicine. We cannot trust the government to create a better system for us because health insurers have such extreme lobbying power that they can (and have) delayed the passage of key legislation to modernize and improve healthcare in a number of realms (and not just "provision of healtchare" a la Obama's health bill). Things that have been passed are still adulterated to the advantage of insurers.

The more we rely on government to take care of us, the more we subject ourselves to the power of those who control (and finance) those in office.

An absolute lack of compassion, consideration and sympathy for people who really do have to struggle. And they wonder why their "opinions" are greeted with the same lack of empathy from others who may have been self built yet still have the ability to give a damn about others?

One of my aunts told me as a kid that for every person who works hard, there's another person who works twice as hard and still has little to nothing to show for it. Whether it's 100% true or not, it was still a wise message regarding humility and not taking anything for granted. Some people have no idea how despite their skills are how luck & fate still plays a factor in their lives. But they'll certainly display that lack of knowledge & belligerence when it comes to social issues such as Health Care.

Sorry liberals I am a physician and have seen it all...Obama and Pelosi are poised to destroy the health care system. Granted it is not the best but in comparison to nationalized health care its remarkably good. Yes, I made over 6 figures last year and intend to continue to do so...not your business.

So what? My hubby makes six figures and is a shrink who owns his own practice in New York. I see the problems he goes through firsthand when it comes to getting paid by insurance companies in the current health care system. Nothing but a bunch of headaches and the runaround for what used to be a rather simple thing. On top of this, he has to pay for his own health care out of pocket which costs a LOT more than my plan which is provided by my employer. Even worse, I can't even put him on my plan as a domestic partner or a spouse to help him save money because it doesn't recognize same sex relationships even though we've been together for almost 7 years.

Making "six figures" don't mean shit when it comes to this debate. And obviously as a physician, you don't know enough about the problems many Americans (and dare I say it, even your own patients) face with the current health care system beyond your own narrow minded political scope, considering that the word "liberals" is usually one of the first thing uttered out of your vocal hole in every post. Either you don't know which makes you stupid, or you do know and don't care which makes you socially ignorant and stupid. Either way, there's a continuing theme that emits from your thoughts that you can't escape.
