OBAMA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME?

Let me give you a few examples.

Glenn Beck teased Friday’s episode of his popular new Fox News show with images of Stalin, Lenin and Hitler, while telling audiences on Wednesday’s show that he was wrong to have said the Obama administration is leading America to socialism — "it’s actually fascism".

Rush Limbaugh at this year's CPAC convention:

YouTube - "I Want OBAMA to FAIL !" : RUSH LIMBAUGH | CPAC Convention 2009

Conservative political activist Alan Keyes, in February, said: "Obama is a radical communist, and I think it's becoming clear... He's going to destroy this country. We're either going to stop him, or the United States of America is going to cease to exist."

Also, Alan Keyes says (Keyes is the one who filed a lawsuit against Obama to stop California from giving its electoral votes to Obama until a birth certificate was produced): "Is he president of the United States? According to the Constitution, in order to be elligible for president, you have to be a natural born citizen. He has refused to provide proof that he is, in fact, a natural born citizen."

YouTube - Alan Keyes calls Obama a radical communist

--------------------

When Obama was still running for president and gave that speech before 84,000 people at Denver's Invesco Field, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin compared Obama to Hitler with his guest Curtis Sliwa (the WABC radio host and Guardian Angels founder).

LEVIN: Let me ask you something. You know, Barack Obama's really into these big German-like events that he creates in this country, isn't he? Have you noticed that?

SLIWA: I am telling you -- and he comes out and it's almost as if the crowd stands in unison, and I'm saying to myself, "Oh my God, the Olympic Stadium, Berlin, 1938."

LEVIN: Yeah, we've seen this.

SLIWA: Yes.

LEVIN: It's scary.

SLIWA: And the only thing missing is he's not standing up in an open car.

--------------------

And conservatives wonder why they've been marginalized - and wonder why authentic conservatives like David Brooks and David Frum have been speaking out lately and writing ungraciously about them.

OMG you haven't heard Obama hatred till you've listened to Steve Marlsberg or Glenn Beck on WOR News Talk Radio 710 HD - News Talk Radio's Home Page. I listen alot because you should always know what the enemy is up to. Then throw in Michael Savage and you have quite the Obama hatred salad.
The man is our president and not the messiah too many people make him out to be. It's too early in his position to start throwing the knives at his back.

The irony is that all of the blaming of obama and name calling is what hitler did to th3 jews in the 20's to rise to power. So who's really like hitler?

So Obama is like the persecuted Jews that were sent off to concentration camps.

If you don't like the analogy - don't use the same analogy and substitute names.
It is a very weak argument which doesn't make much sense.

America doesn't know what real socialism and what real communism is. We've always been on the right side economically and socially. Anything that deviates from that seems to set people off and they use socialism and communism as buzz words to get people riled up. Our center line isn't the same as the rest of the worlds center line.

Now I'm not trying defend Obama. I voted for him, but I'll admit I've been a little disappointed with his performance so far.

But no means is he a communist, and especially a RADICAL communist.

AUS-WA, the world would suffer, be sure of that.

Thanks, Will, these are good examples. I am really perplexed by the depth of hatred for Obama, and don't really have a good understanding of why it exists. A conservatives act this way about the Clintons, but it seems to have grown into a full throated roar from the right. I think in the long term, it will just continue to erode independent and many other centrist voters.

The inconsistencies are the most humorous:
Obama as Socialist, Fascist, Nazi, or Communist
Obama as evil genius or empty suit
Obama as Muslim or Black Liberationist
Obama as Manchurian Candidate (Did they actually read the book or see the movie? That must have been McCain!)
Obama as a celebrity or someone disrespected around the world

Obama is exactly what he said he is during the campaign - a centrist, pro-Wall Street, and Clintonian Democrat. (I want him to be more progressive :) ) Everything else, is just the right-wing echo chamber of stupid accusations that are not even self-consistent, let alone factual.

Did everyone left of Lindsey Graham hate Bush? Absolutely, but that was after Bush had failed in so many ways.

I think many of the talking heads (both sides have them, but I'm only talking about the right right now) of the right want the people to believe that they made a mistake, and all the chaos that will come is their fault for not picking the right side, namely their side. Thus next election their candidate will be that more appealing. It's one of the reasons why Obama was so appealing to so many people. Look what the right did! We can't let that happen again! Look at Regan's election (I think it was Regan at least), it was the landslides of landslides.

The "left" does the same thing, but since we have a democrat in office all the left heads get to yak about the right heads yakking.

Dude, I listen to the shows you mention and while I hear a lot of disagreement in Obamas Policy's, I don't sense this hate you speak of.

Enemy...come on man...just because you disagree with someone you should not make them your Enemy.

Every once in a while I get a bit homesick, thinking that I should fly the long haul home to Nevada and enjoy the wilderness. Then I see Glenn Beck rants on Youtube, hear the hate rants of those who don't support Obama realizing that they represent at least 40% of the population of US Citizens, and that the prudish WASP fantasy that continues in most of the USA is one of the things that I listed on the PRO side of that list I made so many years ago when I was making up my mind to remake my life over in another country. PRO: no more FOX Fake News, no more Plush Rush, no more Insanity and Colms, no more Eagle Forum, no more hate speech cloyingly passing itself off as newsfotainment. And most of all, no more unafforadble health care.

Yeah, there are political problems in the countries I spend most of my life in, but there is NOTHING as stupid and disheartening as having to suffer the middle-class and primarily white 30 to 40 year-old set of undereducated 'Mericuhns whining about shit they have no real knowledge of because: 1. They're too lazy to have paid attention in history class or 2. If they did pay attention, all they heard was revisionist crap.

I hope the best for Obama, but I don't expect miracles. I hoped the best for Bush Jr., too, but after his first two years it was obvious the country was screwed.

Nope. I'll just continue paying my US property and income taxes and enjoy the life I've been fortunate enough to carve out for myself. It's about that time of the year I sent checks to the Civil Liberties Union, my favorite US Gay Community outreach center, and a bunch of other US non-profit organizations that scare the beejeesus out of the conservative right. It's best I just stay away from the USA for at least another decade except for the once or twice a year week or two week sojourns to check up on business.

Being an expat ain't so bad. The food is definitely better.

I'm sure Canada and Mexico would suffer... they'd have to pick up the pieces.

I can almost hear the world breathe a collective sigh of relief as the true Axis of Evil falls down. Goodbye the United States, Australia and Great Britain.

Just look at the list of dimwits you have referenced. There aren't enough brains between them to pour piss out of a boot if it had directions printed on the heel. Wasting time debating this foolishness is beneath me and every other person with a brain in their head. Pure idiocy.
