When Trinity makes a move to "combat" what she doesn't want to hear by posting a new post, remember she is a sickly, fringe sideshow to the real political process. The real political action is not where Trinity is. Trinity represents the rootless fringe.

Actually that's what you did. If the documents are fakes why all the jumping to stop Discovery that would prove that? You don't want to hear that so you post a Fringe post.

...and yet we give "it" oxygen.

This is what I don't understand about the state of political affairs in the US today. The Republican party continues to lose members in droves due to the rabid, ignorant, racist rantings of the ultra-conservatives that have taken over. Latest estimates have the GOP representing less than 22% of the electorate. Most intelligent, fair-minded, true Republicans want nothing to do with the likes of Joe Wilson & Sarah Palin and prefer to leave the party than have their ilk represent them.

And yet, STILL, we give life sustaining air to the hate mongering moronic wing of the party by engaging them in debate (if you can call it debate). To continue in this way is fool's folley.

Please, I beg... stop engaging these morons. Do NOT answer their posts. Do NOT engage!

Ignore them - completely - and I promise you, they will go away.

I did not engage, nor will I. Trinity is back on my ignore list.

My purpose in even contributing to this thread is to announce that I've flagged the OP for violation of the ToS and intend on pursuing that line to its logical conclusion. Quoting from WND is one thing, quoting from an infamous white supremacist hatesite is something else altogether and hits at the very core of acceptable speech at LPSG: it simply cannot be tolerated.

All reasonable minds can agree on this. Those who cannot should be expelled.

Yesterday Judge Carter ordered a Motion for Rogatory Discovery to be heard in the case. Obama's lawyer's responded immediately yesterday by filing an Ex Parte Application for a Limited Stay of Discovery to halt any immediate discovery of Obama's records until the Judge can rule on the Motion to Dismiss scheduled for Oct. 5th.
The Executive Order signed by Obama on Jan 21 empowers him or Holder (the Atty. Gen.) to deny Freedom of Information requests as they please. There's nothing wrong with that, so far as it goes. The EO is the legal basis for the secrecy surrounding Obama's earlier records (school transcripts, legal notices of name changes, long-form birth certificate, blah blah).

"Discovery" is a big deal, as it is not dependent on the FOIA. How Obama and the White House will attempt to block discovery will doubtless be newsworthy, even to the Times.

a very specific, disenchanted, rebellious, supernaturally-inclined extra-politcal fringe group.

Just like those americans who were convinced that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job".

... the "9/11 was an inside job"-ber thinks of himself as rational and sane too.

....the rootless fringe.

So am I to assume that you are questioning the sanity or are characterizing as insane the 9/11 truthers?

Therefore Obama appoints insane people to high positions in his administration?

I'm not sure that I would even go that far, but good for you Willtom!

The question is...if every document purported to be an Obama Birth Certificate submitted by Taitz is a forgery why all the fight to prevent discovery of that fact?

Our court system is adversarial in nature. You always do everything you can to stop the other side from getting what they want. It's lawyers legal responsibility to do everything in his or her power to prevent the other side from even stating their case if you're sued. This is how it works, always.

So you spend over a million dollars to keep the other side from presenting their case.

How about saving some money if you have an exceptionally strong case you present it and win?

Actually, the stay is intended to save the court and all litigants time and expense. If you actually read the text, you'll realize that it seeks for the court to delay all other proceedings until the matter of the previously filed dispositive motion to dismiss has been decided...because if that motion is granted, everything else becomes moot.

To be a liar, I would have to have lied....which I didn't. You weren't subjected to ANYTHING. I didn't present links or a link, I simply cited a quote for words that I was required to attribute to someone else.

"SLICKOLOGY 101" -- you MUST be either a lawyer or someone from the RNC!!! Let's see................"it depends on what your definition of 'is' is!" Hmmmmmm!

I've been reading some of the posts here and it's led me to a few conclusions...

I'm happy to see that most people who have been posting are rational level headed individuals. The few crackpots are doing a lousy job of hiding their racist views. The racist "Trinity" seems a lot like a former coworker of mine. She claimed to be a feminist, hard-core Democrat who despised Replublicans but when Hillary conceded defeat to Obama, suddenly this Democrat felt that she might have to vote for McCain. When she announced this, she was berated by all of her friends and she heard from all of them that the only differences between Obama and Clinton was gender and race, but the differences between McCain and Obama were huge. She was accused of racism by everyone she knew. It took a while but she finally had to admit to some latent racist views. My point is that "Trinity" and others like her might not want to admit it but their problems with this administration is that a black man is in charge. It's a shame that in a country that claims to be a beacon of hope, freedom and equality we still have people who hold on to such outdated and hateful ideals.

My second point is that it seems that most people who are speaking out against health care reform are either too uneducated and are going against their own best interests or they are shills of the insurance industry. I used to be a licensed health insurance agent so I've seen how the business works. I've seen companies try to drop individuals who "dared" to make use of their coverage. People had to decide whether or not to go to their doctor because they ran the risk of either getting dropped or getting their rates increased. On a personal note, I was in college when my father got ill and I took him to the emergency room. After 8 hours he was sent home with a new prescription because his condition was not severe enough to warrant a hospital stay according to his insurance provider. Less than a week later my father was admitted to the hospital due to kidney failure. One week later he died. My father had been taking 15 pills a day. Giving a new prescription was the preferred method of treatment for this insurance company because it was cheaper. Reform is needed and it's needed now.

I did not quote hate speech or any racist commentary or questionable remarks. I simply quoted information on a legal case in federal court and cited the statement of another person on the legalities of that case.

I do not support or tolerate any type of racism or biggotry in any form or fashion.

To suggest that I have in anyway participated in "unacceptable speech" is untrue.

And we're having a hard time believing that Stormfront - White Nationalist Community was the ONLY place you could find that information. What were you doing on that website in the first place?

True. That's a legal answer...and maybe a political one. But this is really about Mr. Obama being eligible for the Presidency as a Natural Born Citizen and if Mr. Obama plays legal or political wrangling like stays instead of proving he is what he says he is...it raises questions.

Actually, the stay is intended to save the court and all litigants time and expense. As I said, it is still true that if they allowed discovery the documents would (presumably) be proven forgeries ending it all. All of the immediate motions to prevent proving that only serves to raise questions.

Ah, yes . . . does it not surprise anyone that The He/She and the Holy It has no shame? It's just a white supremacist trying to drag any and all down to a level of ignorance the thing loves to wallow in. Don't touch it, you might catch something.

Yes, and don't address the real issue raised. Guess what, Trinity posted a news story - factual, court record - and yet everyone jumps on the "It's Racism " train. Address the facts, as that is the substance of the post.

Politicalforum.com is not a news source. It's a right wing blog and you've quoted a blog post. You can find a news source reporting this story. Hell I found it on the huffpo a few days ago.

Yeah, but let's post poll results from 50 people. Please, you had better check your own credibility first.

The THOUGHT POLICE are in full force today! I have still yet to see a single "Obama-lover" address the original issue of the court case. Again, let's just cover it all up with cries of racism! Perfect!
