Sooo....4 months of the 12 month fiscal year, from October of 2008 to October of 2009, don't count?
The President oversaw those spending changes to help stymie the recession. He doesn't get to claim victory for helping stall the fall of the economy while also claiming he did not oversee increased spending to combat the recession.
You all have to choose one rock to stand on; either he (the President) did everything he could to stop the steady slide into a deep depression, or he stood by and watched as Bush's plan stopped the recession.
If you use the TARP-laden 2008 as the baseline, then yes. Of course, that turns a one-off $800B expenditure (that has since been paid back) and makes it permanent. Also, doesn't include $200B per year in Obamacare spending promised in 2010, but not to kick in during 2014.
I can't believe that Obama is going on a 4 million dollar vacation for 20 days in Hawaii, with all the people hurting after Sandy. Couldn't he find something better to do with the 4 million tax dollars than vacation. He should just go back to Chicago to his house, take in all the things CHicago offers . He can bring his chef is he wants and housekeeper etc. It would cost much less than 4 million.
