Thank you Vinyl...that was my point from the get go. This thread, once again, doesn't encourage nor merit any constructive debate.

And once again, since this isn't a glowing recommendation of the Obama Administration, there is no point in your participation, Stretch.

"Lighter-skinned Latinos"

Fine, the tax affects lighter-skinned latinos and white people. Still a pretty narrow contingency I believe most people would say.

In any case, the people that end up getting hurt are the salon owners.

Why aren't we taxing foods high in cholesterol or deep fried fat?

Tax butter.
Tax foods high in sodium.
Tax cheese.

No, no, no, no, no star... you won't get away with diverting the topic this time. Not on my watch. I'm sick of the bullshit and this time you're either going to own up to your garbage or lose all credibility you ever had on this board.

WHY would you allow yourself to regurgitate such a racially ignorant, conservative sound bite just for the sake of bashing the current administration? Is your hate for Obama so high that you would embrace such a bigoted statement in the same way that other previously banned people would sourced racially insensitive websites for critiques? After all the whines and complaints against liberals and Democrats for "playing the race card", why do you hypocritically engage in it now?

Be a man and answer the questions. And be honest.

It is a tax on a practice PROVEN to have detrimental effects on one's health to help pay for health care reform. YOU are the one who injected race into the mix. One can get enough Vitamin D through being exposed to the natural sun for @ 10 minutes, or you can also drink a glass of milk. There are absolutely NO health benefits to using a tanning bed.

no benefit except a tan which i think is why most people go. not for vitamin d.

Further more blacks do tan. I met a couple girls a week go down from michigan and definitey had darkened up quite a bit evident from their bikini lines and to your displeasure Vynlboy we had a great time at the tiki bar.

On the the other hand I agree if they taxed something that was used almost exclusively by one race (caucaisions being the exception) then there would be an uproar regardless if it is unhealthy in the first place.

I would like to see a fat tax on unhealthy foods. but there has already been opposition stating that it will hurt the poor because they can't afford to buy healthy foods. Many more poeple die from diseases related to obesity than from melanoma.

I'm in favor of taxing both personally and I use a tanning bed. Sick isn't it. I have a 5 minute walk to the beach and I have to go to a tanning bed. But thats the way it is when you work in doors6 days a week.
